Media-censorship. The administration knows if pictures like that start getting out in mass, the people will see the whole story about this "war on terrorism". We know when we bombed there would be civilian casulties. BUT, it's something we must sacrafice in order to "rid the world of terrorists" in Bush's eyes.
The government learned their lesson concerning allowing this sort of coverage during the Vietnam War. They aren't about to let the public see the horrors of this one first hand. The potential for massive nation-wide demonstrations against the war increase tremendously under such conditions. They won't allow the media to show the flag draped coffins of our dead soldiers, they certainly won't allow this. They have the cooperation of our major media outlets and they control the spin. I doubt we will be allowed the same insights to war that the Vietnam coverage allowed ever again, no matter who is in charge.
because we can't let people see those that are different as people. its easier to attack and kill those that are not protrayed as humans.
I saw some video out of Europe and the Mideast from my dish that showed the civilians that got burned by the shock and awe bombs dropped on Baghdad. No one in the U.S. ever showed that video. The U.S. govt and media tried to trick the public into thinking that those giant orange mushroom cloud bombs didn't cause any civilian deaths or injuries.
Everytime I click on that link my computer freezes up and I have to restart it; so I'm not gonna click it again. But can someone tell me what's it's all about? (and the two pics that I think are supposed to be in the post aren't loading either...fucking computers!)
Ever think that those people were victims of a sucide bombing? Because yeah civilians get blow to bits in those too.
It's true. Not these photos though. It's documented. Our fault. Did you go to the site? There are many more... terrible photos.
