what did/are you going to do?

Im going to graduate next year... And there is so much pressure from parents, family, school, stranger, and friends to figure out what I want to do with my life.

Right now my plan is to take a whole year off to figure out what I want to do, if I haven't figured it out before I graduate, and live in the city for a year and work at starbucks or something. Just so I can sort things out and get to know myself better, and to experience life in a different light.

So Im curious to know ... what you people plan to do... or did after high school?

 

what i did after highschool?

i went to a military college and was planning on joining the US Army, then i didn't want to do that and realized i didn't want to do that anymore after 2 years...now pretty much all my friends have graduated...

and i plan on going back for 1 semester...

then i gotta find and get accepted to a new school so i can finish my degree

 

Job, college, kids bla bla bla. Now Im older and wanting to do things all different. Plan there and be sure so you have little to no regrets.

 

I went to college....hell what am I saying I'm still a college student. I started off as a general studies major, and well I've changed my major three times. I want to go to an art school, but I need to finish the major I have now. Mainly because I need to so I can afford art school. haha

 

ater high school? college, dropped out, got married, divorced, college, dropped out, got married, divorced...i think i'm seeing a pattern here.

 

college,dropped out, joe jobs, alcoholism, almost got married, alcoholism, joe jobs, moved up the corperate ladder, alcoholism, quit job, alcoholism, moved, new job, alcoholism...

 

After I got out of high school, I took a year off, moved away, got a retail job, hated it, moved back home, and went back to school. I graduated in December...only one semester behind everyone else that I graduated from high school with.

I'm glad I took a year off, though, it did teach me a lot about myself. Everyone told me when I decided not to go right to college after graduation, that I would never go back to school. I knew myself better than that.

And don't think that you can't get into a good college after that. I got into my first choice college after taking that year off (I didn't end up going because of financial issues, but I was just making a point).

 

i always heard if you take a year off after high school you'll never go back to school.
but that just depends on the type of person you are
personally, if i would have took a year off i wouldn't have went to college haha

i graduated from high school last year, and i just finished up my first year of college, almost failing out.... if i do go back to college this fall i am probably gonna change my major.. if i'm kicked out of college, then i have no idea what i'm gonna do.

 

Maybe you were just not ready to go back to school. Sometimes you just need a break to get your head together...in all reality you have to be in the right mindset to do ANYTHING in life. If you're not ready to go to college, instead of struggling to get through it, being miserable, take sometime off, make a commitment to yourself to reevaluate yourself after a year...and if you're still not ready, then do it again for another year. *Shrugs* College is *supposed* to be fun and fulfilling and if you're just struggling and miserable...then what's the point of doing it??

 

I Failed College...

Tried Again the Next Year and Got Kicked Out...However They Still Expect Full Payment...For the Course...

 

I went to university and I am still there... I would have graduated but I didn't want to so I added another major.

I love school so as soon as I graduated high school I was just dying to go to college.

 

College, drugs, college, drugs, college, drugs, college, drugs, college, drugs, college, drugs, took a year off.

Here I am.

 

i think i might have done better n college if i'd taken a year right after high school. you know, to get a head start on getting married and divorced.

 

brown shoes , dont make it . quit school , dont fake it ....but realy , education , today is like gaudy makeup and revealing clothing that whores purchace..the better to sell themselves to institutions -corporations who selfishly usethose ho s for reasons and tward ends that the poor educated pawns know nothing of

 

Oh, Jesus, I was just thinking about that about thirty minutes ago.

I have no fucking idea.
I want to go to college, I know that much, but I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I suppose I want to do something in the science or medical fields, but I don't know what...

Ugh.

 

after this year...well im going to do Leavers (Schoolies) with a couple of mates up north....or south. Then hopefully go to Uni and study in becoming a Vet Nurse. Maybe sometime next year I'd love to go and see family over seas. Havent seen them for seven years so should be wonderful.

Well...at Uni currently doing mathematics...no idea what I want to do with that...possibly take another degree in engineering afterwards...then...*shrugs*.
Possibly go into helicopter design. It's something that interests me and I'd be interested in...but...not sure.

 

I took a year off, worked and saved some money, went travelling, moved to England and went to university. Now I'm finished with uni and wondering what to do... :tongue:

 

Wow I've never heard that in my life!! Things people will say.

 

I couldn't do anything but go to uni after college (high school?)...it's easier than doing real work. =P
