i know of one place that has a bit of a hippy rep.......although i can't remember the name of it. it's on sydney rd in brunswick, last time i heard it was a favorite hangout for people dropping acid and smoking pot lol. i went there once and i saw that dude who got arrested for trashing the cop van in the g20 riots, it was the guy with that big beard! remember?
anyway maybe i'll remember the name of it but peace out

It's on Sydney Rd somewhere???? Wow ..... that narrows it down!! St Kilda has an awesome vibe I reckon. There's a place called the vineyard (I think) which has an awesome feel and I met some awesome people in there.

As for the Sydney Road bit - I think Iknow of a point on it which was spoken about in these forums. Once I remember what it was, I'll let ya alll know.

 

ah hahaha yeah but to be honest i didn't really pay much attention to the name, which is why i can't really remember it!! There's a heap of punk/alternative/metal bars in melbourne not to mention all the indie bars as well! There's a place called Click Click which is full of wanna be hippies and other people who want to be in i-pod commercials.

going off the topic a bit, there's a festival on new years and on the easter long weekend called confest. i'm positive there would be melbourne people who go there that you could meet. if you go to google and then click the aussie search then type in confest it should give you a link to the website. I haven't been there but from the photos i've seen it's a massive hippy fest lol!!

Yep, Confest has a lot of Melbourne people. It consists of mainly Melbourne and Sydney people. I could quite proudly say I was from Perth - soooooo far away. I had been in Melbourne for a few months though
