Does anyone have any suggestions on how to give your hair volume? I have straight hair that doesn't want to do anything. I curl it and about an hour later is is straight again. I use hair spray, a dryer and a brush to style it. I sometimes even use a curler but nothing helps.

Put the stuff for that in you hair and blow dry head down. I guess you have tried that, huh? A perm would help you. Body wave one if you don't want it too curly.

i have a volumizing thinger thats activated by heat, i put a little into my roots and blow dry, dryign the roots first with them pulled a bit more perpendicular

if all else fails you could always try back combing

Cut it. I have a friend who had long hair and wanted more volume. She complained for yeeeeaaars about it, until she finally got her hair cut about a month ago. Now she has all sorts of volume and, to be honest, the cut looks really good on her. :)

biida has a good idea. what style is your hair in now and how long is it? I great way to add some volume is a layered cut, and of coruse, blowdrying your hair with your head upside down. While blowdrying it, you'll want to put in some light volume enhansing mousse at the roots, and really focus on blowdrying them upwards from your scalp. Once dry, tip your head back upside down and add a spritz or two of a lightweight hairspray. The light weight part is really important, since anything too heavy (like cheap hair sprays) are just going to weigh your hair down and make it fall flat. The same goes for the mousse. You might have to spend a few bucks and go to a salon to get some good products but it will last a long time, and the effects you get from it will be 100X better.
    Hope this helped. :)

Put your damp-almost-dry hair into one french braid starting at your forehead going all the way to the nape of your neck and sleep on it. When you take it out in the morning, it will be full and wavy. It's one of my favorite easy hair styles and it looks great. For added volume, comb volumizing mousse into the hair before braiding.

it could be the product build up.

have you used a clarifying shampoo and an apple cider vinegar rinse?
that'll take off all the crud you have slapped on your poor hair, and you will be able to see what your natural body is, and work with that.

on the french braid idea, for a quickie and mostly straight hair, just braid until all the hair is in and not finish to the ends of your hair.

and yes, lol, dreads will give you serious body!
