Hey guys ive been looking at all of your beautiful dreads for a few weeks and you inspired me to start my own... tried backcombing about 4 days ago and been backcoming everyday to try and keep them together... but my hair is so fine everyday all my dreads fall back out... was gonna get wax but money is scarce so that option is out..really wish i could have nice fat dreads but gonna just go natural from here on out.. my hair hangs in thin strands though any chance i might still get fat dreadies?

if you go natural, your going to get lots of different sizes. which is cool. and your dreads will change from thick to thin and thin to thick. so, yeah you can have thick dreads, but you will most likely have thin ones as well.

Don't use wax. You don't need it, plus it's no good for the process.
My hair is super super fine too, I just backcombed as tightly as I possibly could. Especially make sure you get it tight towards the roots, they'll come undone for sure but not enough to get out of place.
Have someone do the ones ya' can't reach well for you. Palm roll as you go too, that'll keep em tangly and together for the most part.

Oh & did you wash your hair with residue free soap before you started? If not that may be why they're fallin' apart. The soap will strip them of their oiliness and make it a hundred times easier to knot.

If you want to backcomb, use a fleecomb, normal combs don't work ;)
