Is anyone else here really into health? Recently i've been very interested im my own physical and mental health. I really try to regulate the foods I eat, and drink (no junk food, just drink water). I just find myself feeling like crap after i eat chips or whatever.Recently been doing yoga and meditations, and i really feel like i'm getting closer to my "equilibrium". I feel that marijuana helps to maintain a healthy mental and physical structure for me. I stopped drinking alcohol because it's just dehydrating and flat out nasty in my opinion; I've never smoked a cig. and never plan to. Wish i could vaporize, but smoking'll do for now.
i never have been to into my health. sometimes i would hit up the gym or go running with a friend, but that was to just keep them company. i usually do eat healthy though. i barely drink pop, and usually make myself just healthy snacks. my health really went down though in college.. i smoked like a pack of cigs a day and drank all the time and didn't eat right or have a good eating schedule. i felt like shit all the time and i was sick forever. now that i'm at home for the summer i started taking some vitamins and eating regularly and cut down on smoking cigs and i'm starting to feel a lot better.
oh, by the way.. you said you do yoga and meditate.. do you do this on your own time? or do you do it with a group.. i've always been interested in doing something like that
i know quite a bit about nutrition from reading up before, dieting, working out my diet lately has been pretty bad though, eating out alot, not much excercise, slowly getting better though
I am sort of healthy. I steer clear of most meats (im a pescatarian) and every morning I wakeup at sunrise to perform SuryaNamaskaaram. Ship, do you do any Yoga? Ive been performing Suryanamaskara for a while now..but didnt start getting into any other yoga until recently, now im sorta getting into hatha yoga ^_^ its GREATT
i eat healthy for the most part... im vegan and i work out. i avoid soft drinks and junk food and that kind of stuff... i've wanted to try yoga for strength, but all i do now is what they call 'hindu pushup'. if i could find a group, i would get into it.
I have been into my 'fitness' more at some times than others. Lately I've been riding my bike again, & just using my body more in general. Haven't been eating great, but I havent' been eating awful. I just finished a really stressful, (but) life changing year. I've been really digging riding my bike. I used to be a messenger & erm - I kin ride pretty good when I need to, but mostly now, I just cruise, look at the pretty flowers, just be out moving in the breeze - me, mj & the beautiful spring evenings. I also take ballet, which is real cool.
hippieatheart- i don't do yoga in groups, i just do it on my own because i don't see the need in paying for that service. Plus it's not THAT complicated- at least the stuff i do.
Ive never done Yoga in groups either. Its very easy to learn techniques online, there are videos, etc. Not to mention the videos you can buy.
Yeah i just do BASIC stuff- honestly some might just call it stretching. But i do poses such as "downward facing dog". Really basic stuff like for arms- get a shirt or rope and hold each end and let your arms stretch out thataway. For legs- just bend down and touch the floor, put a leg up on a couch or some elevated surface and touch yer foot- just basic stuff but it goes a long way.
