Just want to know if anybody can provide any information or references to good information about shamanism and ritual psychedelic use in Mexico and Central/South America. I'm particularly interested in ayahuasca and peyote. I plan to live in the area for the next several years and would very much like to hear from anybody who knows about these things--especially anybody who knows from firsthand experience. Thanks
I've taken part in Ayahuasca ceremonys around the Iquitos, Peru area. There are still some Ayahuascero's practicing throughout Peru. The trick is finding someone who is real and not a rip-off. I had know the shaman personally for a couple of years before I did a ceremony with him. A Very powerful and useful experience. A web search would be a possible start for finding other peoples experience, there are a bunch of Ayahuasca "tours" that are offered. Can't say anything about them because I have no experience with them. Good luck.
