Okay I take birth control so I have to go to the gyno annualy to get represcribed. I don't mind going except for the pap smear and blood tests, and well being felt up and probbed and invaded by a Dr. I know that it's safe to go to the Dr. to get tested and all that, but I'm wondering do guys ever go to the "guy dr", how many guys out there go to the dr. and get tortured in the name of health like us girl's. And if guys never go to the dr how will they ever know if the get say chlamidia an std with practically no symptoms. Also girls on birth control does it make you fat? B/c I think it makes me gain fat easily or something.
I've been "tortured" a few times. Easy stuff..just pinches/grabs you in different spots and tells you to cough. Nothin big. I only go when I have a problem though. And there is no "guy dr" I dont think....I go to my normal everyday physician for that stuff.
Birth control pills and also the Depo Provera shot made me balloon. It wasn't until I went off the pill (which I tried first) that I started to lose weight from 180 to 130 in a matter of 3 to 4 months. Then, with my sexy new self my boyfriend and I were having sex waaaaay more so I decided to try Depo. Again, within a couple of months I was up 20 pounds and my boobs got huge. I went off the shot after taking it just slightly over a year I think. I stopped it for a lot of different reasons and various awful side effects. I had to switch over to the pill for 3 months after going off it because my doctor wanted me to try to get back a normal period and let my hormones adjust back slowly. So I think I've been off everything now for almost a year and I again lost weight immediately after going off b/c. With Depo I got up to 180 again but it seems to be harder to lose the weight then it was on the pill. All I can really say is not to let weight gain stop you from protecting yourself. If you don't want to be pregnant then be careful and do what you need to do. As for myself I just can't physically tolerate being on b/c so I'm not on it any more. And the way I got so fat from it was a real big turn off. All my boyfriend and I use right now are condoms and we know we're taking a risk every time but we've talked about it and are ready to handle things if I was to get pregnant. Because we know we are at a point in our lives where we could raise a child both lovingly and financially we're not as concerned as we used to be with taking two measures of protection.
Enh - the yearly violation isn't too bad, considering all the good sex that comes from it. Plus, one more exam and if it's good I only have to have them every other year!Yay!!
I have to go twice a year to see my urologist. Talk about torture! He has to take an endoscopic camera and shoves up thru my penis all the way to my bladder. Not fun.
why do you have to go to the urologist? is that a personal problem or is it for sexual stuff like gynocolists? Also, I have a question when they take your pee at the gyno what do they do with it? Also, when you're having a pap smear and your cervix is open can the dr tell if your pregnant or not? what do they see? And what exactly is it they stick in you, I never had the nerve to look b/c I thought if I saw it I would freak out b/c it would be some crazy evil looking instrument.
When they take your pee at the gyno, its usually a pregnancy test. I don't think that the doctor can tell you are pregnant just by looking at your cervix but I can be wrong. The instrument does look evil but then I got so used to it because there was a period when I thought there was something wrong with me so I went to the gyno so regularly until my pap smear test result came out fine. talk about torture! But pap smears are still so important..
I was starting to date a girl back a while and I decided that if we were going to get sexual, I wanted to know for sure that I had not picked anything up along the way to her, so I went to my primary care physician, told him I was starting a relationship with a new girlfriend, and wanted to get "checked out." They have a series of tests they do for such a thing. Everything came back negative (meaning good, free, in-the-clear). One memorable test is the one they do for chlamydia for guys: they take a small thing that looks like a Q-tip, and they insert it about an 1/8 of an inch or so right into the urethra of the penis! It smarts, let me tell you. That is not a place that was designed for any solid objects to go into!! So yes, some of us guys -- the responsible ones who want to be able to assure a girl they are disease-free and mean it (some guys just claim they are because they've "never seen a sore") -- do go out and undergo the pain/humiliation/whatever you call it to get a clean bill of health. Blue skies, -Jeffrey
I would never go on birth control again, both the shot and the pill fucked my hormones up beyond belief. Use condoms or only have sex the 14 days a months you can't get pregnant and make him pull out.
there are days you cant get pregnant now? so half of the the time you cant? and pulling out with a condom = what? and talk about way to ruin the finish
I got my tests results and everything is negative, except I got an abnormal pap smear which means my cervix is irritated and inflamed for some reason, but there is no cancerous or hpv cells. She said it could be caused by tampons, sex, or an untreated yeast infection. I think it's the last one, I don't know. But now I have to go back and get another evil pap smear in three months, she said usually the body heals this itself. So, I guess it's not a big deal. Has this happened to anyone else?
yup. I replied in your other thread. Haha.. ooh, I forgot to add. This probably didn't help my test result but one month before the test, I took a lot of health supplements. I took Aloe vera gels Bee Propolis (thats supposed to build your immune system) Garlic pills (supposed to deflame) and one week prior to the exam, I made sure I slept early, eat no junk food, no alcohol.. properly didn't help but for those three months, I changed my lifestyle so I didn't feel so stressed about the result and psychologically made me believe that what I was doing could change my result.
Abnormal pap smears are not that uncommon. You have to go back to make sure that it's back to normal. If it's still abnormal, your gyn might do a colpopscopy (spelling is wrong, I know). They put a little camera into your vaginia so they can see the cervix magnified and wash it with a vinegar (if I remember correctly) solution. It helps the abnormal cells stand out. Then they take a biopsy of your cervix...i think...it's been 6 yrs since I've had it. And thats about it. It only takes a little bit longer than a pap. It's just an extra test to make sure you don't have precancerous cells. Which, you probably don't. I didn't.
i got burned one time by a chick who i was in a relationship wit for about 6 months and then all of a sudden it burned when i peed...I had to get a culture test(guys if the doc ever says that...RUN). Its where the take this huge q-tip lookin thing and ram it in you penis...maybe it only looked huge next to my penis, but that shit hurt...
