looking for a nice little beach town....

I'm on the East Coast (Right Coast, if you will!), and I'm thinking about relocating.

Where would be a great place for 1) surf
2) not a lot of people
3) college
4) laid back lifestyle

ive been all over San Diego and up to Malibu...i love the climate and the waves, but too many people for my taste. (and it really sucks if you cant surf because of bacteria in the water)

Ive checked out Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay - this is more my taste.

Any suggestions? maybe Central Coast above Ventura Co., like Morro Bay, et al??

 

You might like to check out Santa Barbara county, around rincon.. The water's colder than down south, but it's more clear than you can believe

Santa Barbara noted.......how affordable is it, though?

 

Well in the small college town of Isla Vista, you can find rooms for rent for cheap ($400/mo), but in exchange you get the college yuppies and party atmosphere. It's more expensive to live downtown obviously. I'd look somewhere in Goleta, CA (town over from Santa Barbara) it's nestled right in the foothills, a great quiet liberal crowd, and a kick-ass farmers market just down the highway

 

SB is expensive!!!!! check craigslist.... unfortunatley there is not a lot of rooms available in SB...

Being close to the beach is key.. I am going to IV next week and parking my RV on my friends lawn who lives on the beach... I am so stoked!!!!


For me, Goleta is to far from the beaches that i like to go to...

I was last year, and I'm moving back this summer... It's an amazing place.

 

I am coming down for the summer too... LONG days at the beach.... Are you living in IV?
