I'm pretty cynical but some things have happened which made me think it could be possible I have some kind of slight psychic ability. They are pretty small things but they made me think anyway Some of the stuff thats made me think this: - I was away on holiday and one night I had a dream my cat died (I had no reason to think he was likely to die). When I got home my parents told me that my cat had died. - I was in the car with my friend (which I'm in a lot) and I suddenly had this thought that we might crash, but I just thought it was me being silly. About 10 minutes later someone crashed into us. - I was driving past a shop and for some reason the thought popped into my mind 'It would be horrible if I bumped into my ex there'. Then I got too my friends house and she said she had seen my ex in the shop earlier that day. - The other day I had a strong feeling that someone in my family might have died. I was going to ring my parents to find out but I decided not too because I didn't want to know! The next day my mum rang me and told me a relative died. And it was an unexpected death. Now these are just a few things, I know they sound silly and are quite small things and of course they could be a coincidence. Just wondering what you think? Also how do you go about developing psychic abilities?
ok then if you are psychic then bet on a horse that wins a race and to show how convinced you are - put 5000 to win
Yes. IMHO, everyone has them to some extent. Some are more developed with that sense than others. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. William Shakespeare, "Hamlet"
Thanks for that helpful post Mr. Macdonald! Actually yes I have too thought that perhaps everyone has some sort of ability.
"Quite small things"? Dear God, Ms Curiosity, you are quite gifted, however maybe your cynicism clouds your ability to see this simple fact. Calm certainty is what develops these abilities. If you can lose the cynicism, it will help. You remind me of a guy on my high school track team who was an extraordinarily gifted athlete. He could have been great, but he had distractions and other priorities in his life, so he never reached his potential. And you know what: That's okay. You need to follow your bliss, whatever it is. If yours is in the psychic realm, you'll do what's needed to advance, no matter what gets in your way. If not, you won't, and it's not a problem. Still with me? My advice is: Read a book by Sonia Choquette called The Psychic Pathway. It's a workbook for developing psychic ability, written by a person who charges upward of $800/hour for psychic readings and still has a yearlong waiting list. Yeah, you're the real thing, all right. Do not doubt.
Everyone is psychic to an extent... it is just a matter of how you go on from this point and use it. From the things you are saying it sounds more likely to me you are recieving messages from your spirit guide. They are ever present and there to help you. If you get "feelings" or "thoughts" that are coming true you are being warned or the blow is being softened. Also, it is a spirit guides way of validating to you... "hey! I'm here! I exist!". If you want to develop your natural abilities try meditation, daily prayer, negativity cleansing, and let go...love, forgive, and live. Stop and think about what it is, then clear your mind. Ask a question and see if you get an answer back. There is your first step. It may not happen right away, then again it may. But the key is to be open.
Thanks I appreciate the reply, I'll look into getting that book. I really am interested in developing this. I am working on dropping (some of) the cynicism. Although of course thats a little difficult when everyone around you is very cynical about subjects like these!
The stuff about the spirit guide is really interesting, I think I'm going to do a bit of research into that. I have been thinking about taking up meditation for a while so I will definitley start that, and since summer is coming I think I'll be spending more time relaxing and cleansing myself in nature which I think will help clear my mind and develop any abilities I have.
the brain is capable of things we cannot fathom. we have senses beyond our capacity of understanding. we are always at work and we must always listen. love.
The psychic gifts are sometimes a method the universe uses to pull us into "situations"...the "play" behind the "play" is that there is a spiritual component to our lives, and this spiritual component sometimes includes people challenging our experiences. For example, I have had people tell me I need a psychiatrist for believing some things I believe. Those people are my friends, because they have made me stronger. The cynical people around you are your friends, too. And listen: Skepticism is a valuable asset that keeps us challenging our own beliefs. The goal is to know reality. This requires balance and hard, hard work. I know I said you'd be better off losing the cynicism. However keep enough of it to do reality testing regularly--there have been some days, a few years back, when I was changing my worldview on an almost minute-to-minute basis, and this is sometimes a necessary exercise. We need to keep testing our beliefs against our experiences until the day we die. However we also need to be very careful not to allow those around us to dictate our beliefs. Best wishes to you as you walk this tightrope.
Of course, I'm certifiably out of my stinkin' mind, however I just need to ask this question: How many coincidences does it take to make direct causation? Is there an actuary in the house? Yeeeeesssss--it's a "possibility." It's also possible that the fact of the sun rising in the east every day for the past 4 billion years or so does not mean that it will rise in the east again tomorrow. As the mutual funds are required to say: Past performance is not a guarantee of future results. There are times when the "common-sense reasoning" is revealed to be pure nonsense, Ms Curiosity. Trust your own thinking above all else.
A simple question, yet also quite complex. Based on my own somewhat limited experience... I once knew my wife was in danger at a certain place on a certain stairway. I told her so. I told her she needed to be very careful there. Did it make any difference? No, apparently not--a couple of weeks later she tripped and broke her ankle at that exact place on those stairs. However, one time I was sleeping at home while my wife was driving long-distance with the kids. I woke in the middle of the night and knew my wife was in danger--it seemed to me she was falling asleep at the wheel only a half-hour or so from our home. I asked my angel to help her stay awake, and my angel said she would do this. Half an hour later, my wife arrived safely at home, and told me about how she had fallen asleep at the wheel and veered off the road about half an hour before she arrived at home--did my angel save her? How can we know for sure? And then, again...if I did not experience psychic insights, I would still be living in Illinois, instead of moving to Massachusetts...and I am happier in MA than I was in IL. So maybe the answer to your question is yes. You might be interested in a book by a profoundly gifted psychic named Sonia Choquette, called Your Heart's Desire. I think this book would show you that sometimes a psychic's abilities do make a difference in that person's life...and other people's lives--and yet, not always. Blessings, zengizmo
I'd say you have a very well developed intuition. I don't know if I'd call it psychic ability. Probably more of a no than a yes. Although if you develop your intuition, you can get good results. I would advise you to consult a professional psychic who will answer all your questions. This way you will be able to fully understand yourself.
Developing intuition can indeed lead to better insights, though labeling it as psychic may be subjective. Consulting a professional psychic could offer a deeper understanding, providing clarity and guidance. Seeking help from experts in this field can offer valuable insights, helping you explore and comprehend your intuitive abilities more thoroughly.
Maybe as language was first being developed and humanity was still quite primitive, those abilities were strong in our ancestors in order to survive a brutal and dangerous world. Perhaps though mostly hidden now due to the lack of necessity for the use of said ability---it bleeds through to some extent now and then.
All the examples that you gave are about misfortunes and accidents. If you are a person that thinks about such things regularly, it follows that you would have thought about them, not too long before they happened. Although you may not have consciously realised it, was your cat getting old and showing signs of declining health. Was it the first minor car accident that your friend had experienced. Did your ex live locally and use some of the same shops as you. You were worried about your parents advancing age, but it was someone quite different who had died. More importantly, how many events have happened that you did NOT expect at the time. I may be wrong, but I feel that you are a worrier, that tends to dwell on negative thoughts and store them in your memory. Most people tend to define misadventure and accidents as things that only happen to other people who you do not know. I am hot sure about cats, but in the UK alone, 1,500 people die every day. In one town, their are dozens of minor (non injury) car accidents daily. We are always running across people who we have not seen for a while, I met someone last week who I had not seen for more than 50 years. As I am getting older, news of friends who have died is happening far too often for my liking. I am not saying that you do not have psychic abilities, but you need to see them in perspective to the rest of your life.
I think most humans have these abilities. But others do as well. Such as animals and still others. & sometimes these abilities in humans are blocked for various reasons.
