I dunno if anyone knows a lot about Jehovah Whittness'. I am one but I do not care for the religion and I am trying to convert, on occasian I have seen a couple of things and heard, with my own ears and eyes that have lead me to belive it is a cult. I dunno, I never got to into it to relize all of the stuff but my mum's
trying to make me go back and I'm scared as hell to say no. Anyone here know anything about some creepy details of "my" (the) religion?

Well once when I was going through some really emotionally hard times I asked 2 Jehovah Whittness that came to the door if they could form a prayer circle so I could find some strength to cope. They refused because I was not a Jehovah Whittness. I believe it was obvious that I needed help and they should have. Cheers!

Not much, except that the Witnesses I have met in my life are all anti-semites and often racist. I don't know if that's a reflection of the religion or just the few that I have met, however.

First as far as i can recall they've never reffered to themselves as a religion, it more or less a form of belief, but yet a philosphy to some extensions. But, thats all i know thus far because my friend is one and he kinda informs me on such details..

I also have heard some rather "Disturbing" details about them from him and what they do as for meetings and arrangments..But i wouldn't go as far to say as it is a cult of some sort..

Thats my view and speculation on the matter.

I should get my husband on here to talk to you...he's an ex witness. He stopped attending the meetings when he was 18. He's will be 33 this August.

He says to him, it was most definitely a cult. His mother is still involved, and she's turned her back on much of the family because it's what they teach. To me, that's wrong. Family is family, regardless of their religious orientation.

He still struggles with a lot of resentment regarding being raised as a Witness, he feels scammed, cheated, lied to. He still harbors a lot of anger, it's sad really.

I suppose being a Witness affects people differently, some believe it, some don't. There's a lot I don't understand about it, I've researched, I've learned a lot from my husband regarding their beliefs, and I can understand why one would question much of it. Then again, I suppose you could do that with every religion.

By the way, my husband and brother in law were never disfellowshipped, however their older sister was. They (my husband and brother-in-law) simply cut off all ties to the Hall, no longer attended meetings. Do you know, that even after all the years he's been away, his mother still tries to get him to come back? And that she's sent elders to our house to try and talk with us? Crazy!

It is a religon I was a member and I said it was a cult because of the conversations I had between whittnesses, current, and those who have left.

Yeah well I realize that but i dont see how you can classify it so much as a religion in my eyes it sounds more of a belief then a religion...But anyways back on topic...I think you cheat yourself out of a life in some senses by being one...

I mean you honestly miss holidays and in a sense are the odd ones out when christmas etc...comes around ya know>

But yeah you really should more or less go with what you feel and remember you dont have to restrict yourself to any type of "religion or Philosphy" out there.

    Latz,

    Matt~

fine, for the semantics nuts, "sect."

Most JWs I have known, by a 70-30 split were black and "converting" a Jew seemed to be extra brownie points or something.
They are far from alone in this thinking.
