    hi, everyone. :)
i am trying to find a religion that fits my beliefs as i dont currently have a faith.

firstly, i believe in god and goddess who created and now look after the earth and universe. i also believe in animism.

i am vegan and believe that killing any living creature is wrong.

i enjoy mythology, poetry and history. i've heard this is important to some religions.

i believe in magic(k), but i have never tried it and probably wouldn't do down that line. i own a deck of tarot cards, but i haven't learnt how to read them.

i pray to god and goddess sometimes, but not often. i mainly talk to them, share my problems, my stories, my hopes and my fears. i treat god and goddess like close friends.

so, is there a religion/philosophy that fits these? that comes close? i am open-minded and willing to learn and adapt. :)

Buddhism is always an option, because you can be a Buddhist Pagan or a Buddhist Wiccan. From your description, you sound either wiccan or pagan. Just do research in all areas and find what fits you best! Good luck in your journey!

Why do you feel the need to belong to a specific "religion".

Personally, I take aspects of Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism particularyl Hare Krisna.

Some say, you cannot be Buddhist and Taoist at the same time. That's pure b.s. Many people in the East are both Buddhist and Taoist. If one religion is good, then two is better. :)

Basically, what I'm saying is do what you feel is right. Follow your heart.

    hey bud,

just go with whatever you feel. When you start letting a "religion" define how to you feel than you truely lose yourself to them. I know you said your looking for one that meshes with your own "beliefs", but once you get in there, they start messing with your head.

Trust yourself and be free :)

beliefs aren't as necessary or as worthwhile as understanding.

I wouldn't just say that because you honestly have signs of the Buddhist belief and a few others that i can name...But at the same time you more or less sound like greeks and romans did about the belief's/philosphical views, and religions.

But, Thats something i would suggest looking into..Remeber you dont have to neccarily restrict yourself to them..Keep an open-mind..Good luck as well on your journey to finding a faith to your likings!

    Matt~

Don't feel the need to lable yourself, that just makes things too linear. If you want to know because you want to know how to describe yourself, or to tell someone when they ask, just say you don't completely agree with any major organised religion. That usually only raises more questions, but it's better than saying a specific religion and leaving them to their own assumptions.
