I didn't know cactus can be really interesting until I encountered the Majorelle garden in Morocco... it hosts a wide variety of cacti! Anyway, I wanna know how to grow cactus... does temperature counts? thanks...

a cactus is probably the most hardy plant you can get. it requires minimal care. i live in indiana, and i have cactus growing in my yard! we transplanted some, forgot about it for a long time, threw it in the garage, left it outside, and its STILL alive!

They are hard to weed, the type with thorns, so think first and prepare your bed well before putting them in, but they are beautiful and very diverse.

oh yea i forgot to mention, if you are planning to transplant, wear gloves with a rubber coating (one of those heavy duty ones) i found out the hard way that just because it doesn't look like it has needles, doesn't mean it's safe!

Those soft needled type are killers. You don't feel them till the second or third day.

yep, that's exactly what's in my yard too! and the needles are so so fine its almost impossible to get them out. but they look really neat and sometimes they flower.

Beaver Tails flower with beautiful purple flowers, but the needles are hairlike and you don't really feel them until you hands fester on day two, but there are few prettier flowers.
