Trojan Virus

okay...so, I have found a trojan virus using AVG 7.5. The only problem is, I can't get rid of it, because it says that the virus has already been added to my archive. I have already deleted the file it came from, but the virus is still. How can I get rid of it?

 

Try installing and running bitdefender free from http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Download/downloadFile/340/EN/

 

if you have xp Turn off system restore - (google it or see the hundred other threads where that is the advice)
also make sure you disable system restore as a service

now run virus deletion software

 

lol.....system restore is definately already off......supposed to fix your computer....totally just skrews it up tho!

 

without installing linux... you can boot a live linux disk and use the virus scan utility to clean it up.
