It's been years now but a friend of mine got some apple shaped things that were full of seeds that made you trip...but not in a good way.

We broke the "apples" open to be greeted by an awful stench, i was hesitant at first but i downed them any way. we filled a 2 liter pop lid with the seeds and ingested.

all i can remember was watching white fuzz on an old tv, trying to piss (which was impossible on this stuff, i really had to go but couldn't) i couldn't breath well and the next day was unable to READ! This was the most fucked up part. I really couldn't read. the words on a menu i was looking at seemed extremely fuzzy and out of place. which really fucked with me because even then, when i was an irresponsible hoodlum i loved to read and this scared the hell out of me/us. i thought i had really damaged myself but by the grace of nature i recovered the following evening.

there are so many details that i would never be able to go into depth about. All i know is that i was under the influence of a hardcore poison. unlike shrooms this drug was an awful experience and i wantto know what it was......

    thanks!

Sounds like maybe some kind of nightshade plant. How big were those "apple" like things? Did they have spikey things on them or were they smooth and what color?

My guess is that these were datura seed pods. they have tropane alkaloids, just like the nightshade above. And if they are datura, they are more deliriants than psychedelics.

yep - thornapple! its jimsonweed, friend, not mushrooms.

they're a type of datura plant, and a particularly notorious one in the media.

lethally poisonous in many cases, they produce more of a delirious state than a psychedelic one, and often produce nightmarish hallucinations which the user may or may not recognize as an effect of a drug. often also produce a sufficient level of negative physical side effects, many severely distressing. many more users of this tend to end up in the hospital than of traditional psychedelics, and these folks will have serious physical conditions - they ARENT just "freaking out"

i suggest you read up a bit on datura. its interesting, but a lot riskier than taking some mushrooms or acid. funny part is it's legal, and a lot of kids have gotten themselves in a lot of trouble looking for a cheap, easy to come by, legal trip...

not too many people repeat the experience. those that do usually use it for some form of spiritual practice, not to simply get high.

Yikes! There are some interesting dartura threads over in the "Exotic Psychedelic Plants" forum, too. From the sounds of it, I would never touch it with a 10 ft. pole :p.

yeah man, just kind of sounds like being locked in a bad dream...or a bad trip X10 because it lacks all the pretty colors that would come with LSD or shrooms
