likeable/unlikeable family members

do you have anyone you really like in your family, or anyone you really don't like in your family?

you don't have to give their name, just say how you're related to them (eg. uncle, cousin, etc.) and give an example of why you like/dislike them.

and if you're a teenager who hates both your parents because they don't let you do something and they are actually being parents, get the fuck out of this thread and don't come back.

 

there isn't a single person in my family that I dislike. I certainly can get annoyed with some of them from time to time, but that quickly fades. I have an excellent family

 

I think my stepdads side of the family is wonderful but they are terribly lazy and sucking my parents dry and taking advantage of them. No one over at that house works (it is my stepdad's sister, her two daughters, one niece, and a greatneice that all live there) and repeatedly these people come to my parents for money. Once or twice I can understand Joe helping but my parents were suppose to go to India in March and he gave them the money. My brother is in rehab and I am here at college and they just can't afford supporting another household.

It's putting a strain on my parents marriage and basically I'm bitter at them for being lazy and not getting their shit together. My parents work hard and don't use them as a crutch and hurt their hard work.

 

There is that saying "you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family." Aside from my mom and dad, I don't care for most of the people in my family. I really don't have much to talk about with them, so, as you can imagine, I really dislike family gatherings. Most of them probably think I am strange, but I don't care.

 

The only person I truly dislike from my family is my father.

Other than that, they're all alright... I have a very small family as it is .

 

The only person from my family that i can't stand is my aunt Mary...fucking hypocritical...GAH!
I really really love my sister, dena though...she makes me so happy!

 

I don't really see a lot of my family often, but they're all pretty likeable people....odd, but likeable.

I really love my parents, though.

 

i love all my family members..well i dont get along with my sister to much we're just to diffrent and we often argue..but i love her anywayz

 

I have a drama queen in my family who likes to announce that she is having a panic attack or is about to take a pill. It's all about her...even when there is a death in the family that affects all of us. She calls in sick to work all the time and I am surprised she still as a job because of it.

I can't stand my cousins Joey and Renee.

But the rest of them are alright.

 

I hardly ever see my family as I live in a different country from them. They're all lovely though and I get along with them all. Well, excluding my father.

 

If I allowed it, there would be many things about members of my family that would really bother me. I love that I've been given the opportunity to cultivate the character necessary to find something positive in each one that helps me be very glad that they're part of my family.

 

I've always been pretty close to my cousins, seeing as there are only 3 of them, but on my mom's side...the family is just royally fucked up. My aunt and my uncle are rotten and manipulative. They conned my grandma into moving my grandpa down to Waco (which is about a 10 hour drive from here) in the last 6 months he was alive, so he didn't get to die with his only two grandkids close (my cousins are on my dad's side). Then, they took over my grandma's bank acccount and give her an "allowance," even though she is perfectly competent and capable of handling her own finances, albeit extremely naive. They tell her who she can and can't talk to, when we call and they're over at her house, they interrupt our phone call the entire time. What horrible people...

My aunt (by blood) ripped my gran off by alot of money and is a cow
My cousin (blood) she's 14 and a cow!! that girl is pure evil!!!!

My brother (only sibling) is so fucked up that my dad disowned him in the will. After my dad died, he found this out and asked me for half the money, then 20%. I told him no both times, so now he has basicly kicked me out of his life. The guy has millions and has no need for more money. He is a retired doctor, and is rich enough to take cruises that last for a month or more. He would be my least favorite family member of all.

I like everyone in my family but my cousin annoys me a bit because she doesn't email my grandpa back and I just talked to him on the phone and he's hurt by it. She's a teenager though so eh?
I'm upset with my grandma as well because she is mad at me for not agreeing to mail her secret credit card bills while she's on vacation so my grandpa won't find out. I HATE lying and don't want to take part in it. It's bad enough that I have to keep quiet about them.

 

I pretty much like everyone in my family. It is a pretty big one. My dads side I have no family except one uncle, that has no kids. And on my moms side she has 2 sisters and a brother that all have 3 or more kids. I mostly dislike my uncle(not blood) on my moms side. He is a dickhead, that thinks hes better than everyone else in the family. Other than that I have a really good fam. MY grandma on my moms side is a chef so shes the best cook ever. She makes the biggest meals ever when the whole family comes over a few times a year for holidays.. mannn good stuff
