The rev jerry falwell died

I have to admit that I didn't know much of Jerry Falwell, but I have heard a lot of negative about him.

That said, I must say that even though I disagreed with his ideas intensely, as a Christian I cannot let myself get caught up in all the anger I might feel about him.

So all I can say is that he has God to judge him now and I will let it at that. While he doesn't seem to deserve mercy, he was a Christian. And I am not perfect, as no one is, so I cannot take it upon myself to judge him.

And now my conscience is cleared from my earlier post, which I removed.

 

Hitler committed genocide, Falwell shot off at the mouth too much. Are you honestly comparing the two? But maybe I misspoke. The bit of compassion would be better directed at those who care about him.

 

He was NOT a Christian! The man did not live by Christian values in any way whatsoever. Just because he preached the Lord's name and claimed to know Jesus or whoever, does not make him a proper Christian! The man was an evil bastard and shouldn't be associated with the religion.

It's because of fundamentalist morons like these, that Christianity gets its shitty name. Because people like this supposed Reverend preach such total garbage AND claims to be Christian, people don't want to be associated religion.

I must repeat this, but he was by no means a true Christian.

Sherlock, I know your intentions were good and all, but people like this need to be stood up against! You shouldn't say "God will judge him" even if you do believe so, but people like this guy need to be protested against in this life. You can't let a guy like this run around talking such complete hateful shit just because you feel you are not one to judge. Even though none of us are perfect, this man was...a monster. You shouldn't even compare yourself to him.

Don't let people like this walk all over you!

 

unfortunately, people like him are going to do nothing BUT walk all over us. Oh, and I wasn't comparing him to hitler, i was just saying why should we feel any sort of compassion for him when he felt none for us? I wouldn't wish death or hell on anyone, but some people are just better of dead. He was one of them. I'm just worried now that he's dead, some fanatical fans of his are going to try and carry on his message even harder now that he's gone.

 

He was a monster. Regardless of the fact that there are bigots that supported him and mourn his passing, he will be remembered--if at all--as a monster.

 

I never said he was a **TRUE** Christian. I don't personally believe that he was. A true Christian preaches love and acceptance and tolerance.

I agree that he should be protested against and I agree that its people like him who make other good Christians look bad. And I do not compare myself to him. I'm just saying that it's not in my place to be his judge now that he's dead.

 

I can judge him just as he judged me, harshly, with all the venom that can be brought to bear. I know I should be better and not stoop to his level but sometimes you just gotta say "FUCK YOU" to people like him and spit on his grave.

to show just how much disdain I feel for him and his ilk, I would come closer to feeling sorry for Osama Bin Laden if he died than these so called evangelical christians

 

Okay sorry about that, but the implication of what you said was that he was a true Christian
