I realized that I really like the texture of potato based pasta like gnnochi and perogie. They are smooth, soft, and only slightly, slightly gritty. Goes great with marinara sauce and parmesan or mozzerella cheese.

I'd forgotten how much I really like potatos. :detective

Yeah I think potatoes whether they are baked, boiled, mashed, etc have a very fine but slightly gritty texture. I love it though. You know, gritty may not be the appropriate word for you if it evokes a hard and unpleasant mouthfeel. Grainy? But grainy doesn't seem right either.

The distinct potato texture that all potato products have is what I'm talking about.

Mmm, peirogies are good. I like mine with hot salsa and a little sour cream. Boiled, or sometimes I bake them after boiling, I spray a little bit of butter spray on them before I put them in the oven, to make them have a bit of a crispy thing going on.

I made my own peirogies once, it was a lot of work! But I was more of a novice cook then, and I've done a lot since, so I might have to try making them again.

Now you're making me want some!

    lol, yeah that sounds yummy.

I know we have talked about this before... I made 18 perogies with a pop bottle as a roller and it took me about 3 hours when I first moved out of my parents house.

I said "enjoy em because never again"

Yeah, I remember us talking about the peirogies! Didn't you say you put bacon in yours?

Wow, you used a pop bottle to roll them! Pretty cool stuff! Made do with what you had! I hate my rolling pin, I'd almost rather use something else. Or maybe I should just a new one. Mine is really old. It was my mother's when she was in her early 20's! :)

yeah I put bacon in... good memory.

I think it was a bottle or glass... not a rolling pin.

    tsk.

I probably sounded like a trucker while I was making them "fuck, shit , aww damn"

I know, I meant you used the bottle as a rolling pin. Then I started talking about my lousy rolling pin. Kind of switched gears on you. [IMG]
