I was diagnosed with bi polar disorder a few years ago. I have been off and on meds. Trying to find the right cocktail to try and rearrange my mind. I seem to be doing pretty well now. I have not been this happy in years. I was wondering who else has been diagnosed and is going or has gone through the same thing. At times I still feel alone in this battle. I love my husband and he has been a great supporter but I know he does not really understand.

Hello! Beating a Bi-Polar disorder will be a life time battle but it can be won. My wife was diagnosed as Bi-Polar about 7 years ago and it took years for me to understand. Give your husband a hug for me and keep up the battle. Cheers!

ya i have bi polar and it sucks being happy one second then being totaly pissed off or sad. I take trileptal right now and smoke weed. I am doing fantastic and having a great life but just keep in mind to try to do the best u can and trying not to let the easy stuff let u down cuz u only have one life to live and its not good to waste it on depression. Thats how i try to see things. I am glad to hear u do better with your bi polar it is a struggle but its only a bump in the road of life.

I also have bipolar disorder. When did you have your last episode of either depression or mania? It takes 1 to 5 years to heal fully from an episode. It took me over two years to reach a fully healed state.

    Peace and love

What are your symptoms? It's better to tell a doctor about your symptoms than diagnosis yourself or letting someone off the internet diagnosis you.

never self diagnosis your self and don't let the internet be an Almighty factor. use this for a month or 2 once every 2 days (no more) and see if your high scores are common. i get 60s but i am sure i don't have it (i do it for fun) so be aware . record the numbers. after the month or 2 average them and if they are high and you your self are still think you have it (by that time if you don't you don't normally still think this) go see a doctor and tell them your scores.

Once again, I'll ask what your symptoms are. Depending on their severity, in other words, how much they interfer with your life, then you need to see a doctor. Bipolar disorder is serious and can be life threatening.

If an individual is concerned enough to question their own state of mind they should be encouraged to seek professional help. Prior to that, educating oneself to the extent they have a general familiarization with phraseology used in describing symptoms. Thus, they are enabled to describe same to the health care provider and discuss that providers response.

I don't know where you live, but my psychiatrist and therapist do. Maybe you should call you insurance company and see who they will allow you to see.

    Peace and love

not all the time. see we all want to be diffrent from everyone in some way shape or form. so in a way to be diffrent, no matter if we look like EVERYONE else on the outside we say we are diffrent inside. also we do it the other way around. when i was first told about bi-polar, it was by my best friend, who i wanted to be more like, so when he told me about the goldberg scale, i somewhat knowingly, exagerated all the anwsers to give me an 82. after he told me to re take the test for a while it went down to a 40 in no time. but for a while i was sure i had bipolar. if you score high on the test for the said amout of time and you are STILL scared then go see someone. intill that happens dont worrie

i did not explane this my best so maby i will do better latter
