I’m planning on redecorating my room to be more representative of me. I’m just wondering if any of you have ideas on beautifying my bedroom. Anything at all! I’m not sure if this is helpful in your ideas, but I love anything beautiful, intricate, flowery, funky/edgy, oriental, things that are nice to touch/smell etc. I want to change it into somewhere that makes me and my visitors feel relaxed and comfortable. If you have any ideas, I’d love some help! Thankyou!!
You should put shag carpetting on the walls or ceiling. I know that practically impossible and whatnot, but I've always wanted a room like that... Well, post pictures when your done!
you sound alot like how i like my room to be. Heres some random ideas i can think of that may intrest you.. maybe get some bean bags or some kind of comfortable cushions/throw pillows for the floor to make a lounge area. Reupholster them in asian silks or brocade fabrics. Hang up lots of beautiful silk fabrics/Indian Saris from the celing down to the floor, as wall coverings/drapes. It really add a nice beautiful and relaxing feel. Maybe get some fake flowers on a vine to hang down with them, or peacock feathers even (that is if you dont mind using something from an animal). Or instead use bamboo mats on the walls for a more 'oriental' feel. Shag carpet would go nice with the bean bags and the curtains Some Christmas lights strung up (either behind the fabrics for a glow or on top for more light). Try Whites, Blues Greens for a relaxing glow. Or for A more Funky/Edgey with feeling Reds and Oranges. Or you can make your own lamp with christmas lights by bunching them up or putting them in something, like a rounded bowl lamp or a clear lamp base. You could get one of those Fog/Mist fountain bowls. Theres alot at that link that might accent the beautiful, funky/edgey and relaxing. a table with a bowl with floating tea light candles and silk flowers and nice pebbles/marbles at the bottom. Get a few oil burners and some nice scented oils to burn. a record shelf with candles and mirrors, which you can check out here instead of using the squared mirrors, try the the full length wavy ones turned horizontal: ~~~~ Thats all i can think of now, hopefully its close to what your looking for and not completely off. i doodle or paint whn i need to fill up a wall... I can only do it well enough tho... im not really an artist.... . and my is more of a recoridng studio... so its pretty fuckin cool.
When I was in sixth grade I covered my entire walls in magazines...it looked so cool. I'd love to cover a small wall with orange tinted puzzle pieces on a teal wall... Also, I think tapestries are cool, I have one thats tye dye with a peace sign ^_^ Lava lamps give a good vibe, and can compliment the colors of your wall... rope lights are fun around windows... beaded curtains are must haves! If I could paint my dull white walls...I'd cover the floor in plastic and make paint balloons and have a fight with friends...the splashes would look cool... and then I'd take a thin paintbrush and dip it in black and make designs randomly...like swirls and giraffes...
I like really nice lamps...you can also buy some amazing fabric and throw it over a plain desk..turn it in to something a little more
You could get into plant life, as in start collecting interesting flowers and other plants, maybe even a vine or two and get something for them to crawl up.
Your room is awesome gypsy! you should paint it a nice dark blue, and then do florescent mandalas and such, and get a blacklight... that would be so awesome!
How about hanging a fairly large abstract painting (done by you would be best) on one side of the wall. I personally like the painting on a brick wall, meaning no plasters or paint...simple bricks! On the opposite wall hang or place artifacts, like a small statute of a buddha, or some feng shui stuff. spread some colorful rugs on the floor...but keep it clutter free. yea bean bags' looks really gud. Love ur room freespirit-gypsy. (a lil' less clutter would look amazing! )

OOOOOOHHH i thtink you should paint a massice spiraly design on the roof then just paint the walls a bold plain color like black/white. it would look awesome. i want to do that with my room
