i stay at home. we cook from scratch all the time. we love it. dave is an amazing cook, and he loves to cook. we take turns.
this poster made a very good, legimate point. Why in the fuck would some asshole go and ban him? It's a topic that is a good debate in this day and age.
meh.. I cook all the time just last night I cooked Yakitori and rice with red green & yellow peppers with some broccoli and onion I love cooking
I used to cook from scratch~but now with the kids scattered around & me working.I only do dishes & some prep cook stuff at work~otherwise I eat out or zap something in the microwave in my dorm.
I get to stay at home all day and take care of HIS quadruplegic daughter from his first marriage. Yes, the state pays me to do it WE put our combined incomes together to pay the bills, the cloths, the food MY MOTHER gave us the down payment for the house we live in, WE combine our incomes to pay the mortgage MY MOTHER gifted us with the money to buy both the vehicles we own If we vacation, we do it at the cabin MY MOTHER owns I don't wear any rings, and I gave him the the use of MY CAR, which, upon marriage became HIS, too, as he only had a bicycle that I gave him for Christmas I'm not complaining, and I'm not putting my husband down, either. We're a FAMILY, and we DO FOR EACH OTHER.
Sidebar: My stove broke, and I was STILL able to pull off a great Thanksgiving dinner using a roaster I'd just bought, a crockpot, and a rice cooker!
I love to cook, especially bake (ha ha)! But seriously, I feel so great when I am able to spend time in the kitchen cooking a nice meal for my family. In the winter I love to use my crock pot and make up some awesome chili or soup!
I love to cook. Stir-fry is a specialty. Stretching $5 worth of groceries to feed several people while still making it taste good is also part of the magic that I work. Drake is learning to cook, but if he had it his way he'd just eat ravioli until Fenikkusu or I came home. On the other hand, he's very enthusiastic about doing prep work (cutting veggies/meat, making rice, running errands, whatever), which is a godsend when there's a bunch of our extended tribe underfoot while I'm trying to cook. Fenikkusu is a Marine trained in food service, with an inborn love of cooking to boot. Now that he's home, I've been promised a very nice meal in the near future. Cooking makes him happy, especially cooking for a crowd. I love watching him do it.
Yes I love cooking but I don't cook with my uterus. While I think it's awesome for people to stay home and cook and so on it's only awesome if that's their choice. Being expected to perform a certain job just because you happened to be born with certain girly bits is just silly (just as it is silly to expect a man to club a saber tooth for the women-folk to cook up). Also with the anyone can cook thing - to an extent. I mean I think cooking is kind of like playing music - anyone (except for the extremely tone deaf) can learn what chords and notes go well together and sound harmonious...they can even probably learn to play someone else's tunes by following the notes. But, if they don't have that natural talent and passion, their music will only ever be good, not great. Passable, but with no X factor...(does this even make sense? meh..). But yeah i guess what i'm trying to say is that yes, most people can make a basic dinner, however for some it is more of a chore than a pleasure. Because of this no-one should be forced or expected to do it, particularly because of something arbitrary like sex. It's something that should be negotiataed with each living situation to get the happiest outcome for all parties.
Here is a simple solution for her bad cooking: cook for her or don't eat her cooking. But really, I don't cook a whole lot, but I do alright given the time that I have each day.
I love cooking. I've been cooking for myself since I was around 8. Not full meals 3 times a day, but that was the time when my ingenuity and creativity started really blending with cooking. The fun part to me is creating things without recipes and the idea of not knowing what it will taste like. It's a way to break the stagnance(word??) of daily life and you have to eat anyways so it works. The men that can't cook sorta annoy me. It's like they wanna be all manly and shit, but they're a slave to someone who cooks for them. It makes someone sort of a pussy if they can't cook for themselves, but hey who am I too judge.
I don't mind cooking...but I hate cooking for just myself...it's so much easier to cook for more people...and more worth it... I eat mostly raw food if I'm eating alone... I have to say to the OP, though...LOL...since women are "supposed" to cook...then men are "supposed" to work to take care of the family...what? Women should work too? That's very untraditional...why aren't men making enough to support us and the children too??? Give me a break, dude.
those who control the food control the world. people who can cook and grow food wont have to worry about surviving, they have the power!!! i cook for myself every night. and aspire to be an organic farmer.... im already an organic gardener. if you cant cook, man or woman, learn!!! you'll thank yourself later.
Seems like most of the replies are from you ladies. Well, I'm a man and I cook, and pretty good one at that. OK, vegans stop reading........ Tonights dinner is my southern fried chicken, mashed potato's, milk pan gravy, biscuits, green beans w/ almonds and a small green salad. Last night was slow cooked BBQ'd babyback ribs, macaroni salad and fresh pea's. I was tired last night, so didn't go overboard..... Some men can cook........Dennis....
