Agree that this was not a perosn I would ever have in my home........or be involvled with .......but to be honest he will now meet a maker no matter what faith you follow and be judged there.

I judged him and did not follow in that bunk, but he spouted it and I really believe he will be judged by that in some after life.....rather like a screen flash and asking what the hell did you do with your life.

Yeah he was a goddam saint.

AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals.

Billy Graham is the chief servant of Satan in America.

Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions.

God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve.

I am such a strong admirer and supporter of George W. Bush that if he suggested eliminating the income tax or doubling it, I would vote yes on first blush.

I do not believe we can blame genetics for adultery, homosexuality, dishonesty and other character flaws.

    If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being.

The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country.

It appears that America's anti-Biblical feminist movement is at last dying, thank God, and is possibly being replaced by a Christ-centered men's movement which may become the foundation for a desperately needed national spiritual awakening.

There is no separation of church and state. Modern US Supreme Courts have raped the Constitution and raped the Christian faith and raped the churches by misinterpreting what the Founders had in mind in the First Amendment to the Constitution.

The Bible is the inerrant ... word of the living God. It is absolutely infallible, without error in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as well as in areas such as geography, science, history, etc.

Grown men should not be having sex with prostitutes unless they are married to them.

agreed. One down and Pat Robertson to go. kidding, I certianly don't wish death upon even those I most detest. It blows my mind that such people have such a following, it's sickening.

It's people like these two and other zealots that fuel my belief that organized religion is the greatest evil on earth and what keeps me an agnostic.

that being said, I have sympathy for those who loved the man, even if I don't understand how they could.

the point is that this man was not what you view as being Christian.........well me either. Not for many.

So my judgement is not on being Christian, it is on him not being Christian in my opinion.

Has nothing to do with being Christian or being or any doctrine.......has to do with what he presented that to me was not a place of comfort, without a definition of any faith..........he was not comfortable for me to rest in.

Cerridwen, I just wanted to say I appreciate your compassion. Personally, I have very little to start with and so must reserve all for the victims, but it's comforting to know there are much more magnanimous people than me in this world.

The funny thing to me was that as soon as I finished watching The People vs. Larry Flynt, I turned on the news and heard about Falwell's death.

y'know, I didn't think that I'd get quoted or anything in this thread, I'm surprised that I got the reaction that I did... well then....
Very true, Sam, death in the pagan viewpoint is the end of one thing and the beginning of something new, being 'recycled' in the collective energy of the universe, etc.... No matter who dies and how, though, despite what one's viewpoint of the afterlife may be, the physical body death of a person I think is still sad, again, despite who they are.

I've my own reservations with Falwell, and I understand that there are some people who believe strongly in their religious upbringing to the point where they mesh it with their politics, turning problems into catastrophies sometimes, which is unfortunate. I certainly don't agree with his politics nor many of the things he said... but I digress....
