I wasn't sure where this belongs.

Tony Blair, a popular or unpopular figure in the last ten years. We look back at what the best and worst things that have happened as a result of Blair.

My best things have to be New Deal.
worst things are: War in Iraq, lack of border control and now even more citizens out of work. Of course Blair hides the new figures which actually reach 3million.
Council tax still going up each year
Inflation, now we have above inflation rates. Recently coined as Ken Livingstone who is partly supported by Labour, has increased travel fares above inflation. That is why non oyster users feel the pinch or the stab in the pocket.

There's a verse of the Red Flag that could have been written for Blair:

It suits today the meek and base
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place
To cringe beneath the rich man's frown
And haul the sacred emblem down ...

i think tony blair did screw up big over iraq, but then i do actually believe that he believed at the time, that iraq did have WMD. and if you were told some other country could blow up your country in under an hour, i think youre faced with the toughest decision of your life how to respond and having george bush as your allie (sp?) is shit, coz we all know what a tosser he is. iraq was a massive mistake which blair will undoubtedly be remembered for, but i do believe that at the time he thought it was for the best and i think now he realises it wasnt the right decision

I'm sure this is the perception many have of the decision Blair faced (or thought he faced) but if you read the intelligence, this is nothing like what was being suggested even on the most cautious and conservative over-interpretation of the evidence...

Tony Blair is just a major irrelevence on about the same level as John Major. He is certainly no Winston Churchill or Edward Heath or Margaret Thatcher and he will not even be remembered. people will wonder who the fuck that nonentity is in a few years time. I bet his wifes glad she dont have to see her own ugly horses ass (I mean face) on tv anymore

His cronyism & spin doctoring of news/government business has left doubts about his sincerity. He should still receive credit for the Irish 'Good Friday Agreement' which he worked hard to bring about.I think that 9/11 changed him because whatever liberalism & egalitarianism he felt in foreign affairs;it dissapated in the loyal support for Bush's neo-conservative militaristic foreign policy.
The mere fact that 'Margaret Thatcher' has heaped praise on him -says all you need to know!.

Tony Blair, probably did more good for the country before the war. Once he bombed Iraq, that was it. He and Bush opened the Gates of hell.
