Don't let anybody call you a freak. I know exactly how you feel. Our school is at least ninety percent emos and I absoloutely hate it. Thankfully since I've been here I've felt so much happier and more at home. So keep the peace and love going even if people refuse to accept it. Remember to keep the spirit of the 60's alive at all times. I know I will. Peace to you and all your kind.
Screw them! If those Emos and preps can't take the fact you are a free individual, screw them! You are an individual! Be proud of it!
freakin a- man! i know how you ALL feel! at my school all we have are stuck up preppie bitches that have all the money in the world and shove it in peoples faces. i like to wear long flowing beautiful dresses. and skirts. and colorful t shirts and sweaters. and my hair is pretty wild. sometimes i just throw in a bunch of clips and make it as crazy as ever. but not to impress anyone; to make myself happy. i like to be different and show alot of colors. so screw all of the people that look down on us! lets all look down on them mean people! PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!!! we are all beautiful!!!
Bah... just be yourself. Skaters, emos, preps, punks, nerds, hippies... who the hell cares? It's all in yourself before you start labeling.
Screw labels. Labels and fashions are tools of The Man to keep young people divisive and apathetic about the stuff that matters. Divide and conquer, oldest rule in the book. Revel in your freakdom. Freaks rock! Hell, to illustrate that very point on random days I wore skirts to school (yes I am male). They laughed, but who cares? On another note, if you thought boxers were liberating, try a skirt. Bloody hell. Skirts are being worn by the wrong gender!
hey, if we're supposed to be all-loving, all-accepting, then what the heck are you guys doing calling people freaks. show some love, promote the peace, and shut up if you're gonna be a hypocrite.
I don't think it is for anyone to say what a "freak" or "normal" is, because who then sets the standards, I think that it should just be okay by everyone else for you to be exactly who you are, but some people are scared of what is different, I also have no problem with people trying to fit as long they are happy being who they are.:daisy:
hey....you say you wanna feel related to someone...some grour...subculture....yeah? do ya really need this? do you really need us to label you? you should just be yourself and if you wanna be a part of some subculture it's only youy who decide...
I hate when people call other people "freaks", because then that implies there are people out there that are normal. What's normal? We all have our own definition. Your complaining because they are labeling you, but your doing the exact same thing to the "emo's and skaters". Why can't we all just be called people and let it end at that? We don't need segregation in highschools, teen years are hard enough to get through when we all feel akward and weird. I know it doesn't feel good to be called a freak, and I'm not trying to bash you here, but your being hypocritical. If you don't want them to label you, then don't label them. I would just love whoever calls you a freak because obviously they need more love in their life if they are going around insulting people.
hey dont worry bout conforming.. my school was the same with little groups and shit.. im at uni this year and theres no such thing... its so great.. you can be/say/wear whatever u want n noone gives a shit... u see some odd looking people as a result but i LOVE it...
I dropped out of school when I was just a sophmore.. but I had friends, and was never on bad terms with anyone, even despite the fact I was a hippie. Just be kind, and don't let em put you down. You just have to remember what being a hippie is all about, man. Remain peaceful and true to your roots, kid. It's always better to be the more mature one, too. Everyone is different, and it isn't right to be picked on.. but it also means that you shouldn't go back at them, either. Don't let em mess your groove. Your better than that, ya heard? You just godda roll with what feels right is all. And don't be flip flopin back an forth and becomming a yuppie. Who cares what they think, anyway. Your on a road with much more enlightment, peace, and love ahead of you. You'll see. Highschool isn't everythin. Once, you're done with it, you'll be in the real world. Which feels much better. (after all, you have this forum that welcomes you, dont forget about us!) Aiight, peace out now.. I don't wanna be preaching, ya dig?
The majority of you 'hippie's are elitist pigs, and extremely narrow-minded for calling other people freaks. To the OP: Yes, you're a freak. Don't be so concerned with what other people think, especially what people on this forum think. Be your own person, and stop asking people what they think you are.
So this is gonna be my first reply ever on this website but, I belive im a hippy i dress different and i listen to older music that no one really likes anymore, i dont find myself getting along well with anyone becasue of corrupted views but there all still people but never fall under what society expects of you, be who you want I'm acctually more a hippy then anything but i love skating its my hobby none the less about 97% of skaters thoughts arent correct or maybe they are just not in a fulfilling way to others, so i say do what makes you happy but dont let anyone get you down about what you do choose
I'm a 16 year old female bi-curious hippie who goes to catholic school. I have a hard time even living out my hippie beliefs like you do. It's just about love. People think hippies have to do drugs and have promicuous sex all the time. You don't have to do that stuff to be a hippie. We just want peace and love! PLUR=Peace+Love+Understanding+Respect I relate to your feelings a lot! AIM: joawesome08 Julianne
I'm a young hippie and I get made fun of all the time, but I'm always myself. I saw a quote on here today, that I really live by. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. ~ Theodore Giesel Actually, it's in the persons above me's siggy[about 3 or 4 posts up] ;D
I am 15 to and called a hippie. I don't really care what people say. Don't change for anybody, be who you are and don't let anybody get your down. As long as it makes you happy you have nothing to worry about. Keep on doing what you like.
I really feel the need to point out something here... Is it just me, or are a lot of people here TRYING to be hippies? In my opinion, being a hippy has very little to do with the clothes, drugs, or even the hacky sacks (gasp!), but moreso the ideas that you live by. Living as if everyone deserves your love, living as if peace is the solution to everything, living to make sure the rights of others as well as yourself are not violated all are far more important than sporting dreads or a Dead's shirt. Yes, you should also make sure that you are yourself, but that's just self-determination, not being a hippy... Hippies like me live like we do because it is completely natural to us to stand up for our rights, practice peace, and think completely unhindered. I'm not making any accusations of non-hippydom or anything, I'm just making sure that you guys are practicing what you claim to actually be. Promiscuity and drug use are not required to be a hippy, but the stereotypes exist because both of those practices tend to lead to the discoveries and realizations of our own identities, am I wrong? Once you stop thinking about smoking pot as "getting fucked up" and more of a religious or introspective experience, you realize that drug use of certain types certainly leads to a far more refined hippy mindset and freedom. Allowing yourself to have sex without being embarressed or ashamed like so many religions and laws have taught leads to the realization that it is a natural and beautiful thing. Besides, just because you're a hippy doesn't mean you don't use common sense in avoiding STD's or, say, crack haha. Be yourself, yes, but be yourself -naturally-. Don't TRY to be yourself, as you will fail indefinitly... There is an old Buddhist saying along the lines of "Walking the path itself is far more important than getting to the destination." What we can learn from this is that we need to allow things to progress as they naturally do instead of trying to push harder and harder to a certain end that we selfishly want. Think of it like a Chinese Finger Trap.
