<<Aiight. Truth is, I was in a pretty trippped out, psychedelic state... and exploring my mind. It's cool because I was always one to study up on religion, life, etc, too. And I had gone "exploring" many times... but this one question came up. Well... I came to this conclusion.>> >This is my opinion about time... There is no such thing as time. If you look into it.. It seems though it was made up by man. Look at it as though there is no past & future. The world simply is as it shows. Everything breathes and lives together. Technically, isn't it that all things are in constant motion? That everything is a force? Isn't Life itself, a force? >I ask this mainly because... Many are focused on the future, and thinking about "what will happen". And, that there is lacking in "self-awareness" of the present. And if it is as such, does that cause incomplete lives? (Which might be a role in the cause of reincarnation?) Many have turned off a full awareness of the present and our existence in the "here and now". So, what says you? I'm somewhat confused... :] [It's a confusing topic. And is probably contradicting in some ways.]
Thanks. :spliff: Probably have, tho... I tend to forget alot. Aaannd. Yah. Maybe I should stop with the drugs, then.
The thing is, we dont know shit and we will never accept that as humans. There are some things beyond us we cant explain yet. But what we work with, it seems to work well. Until we know a better truth you can ask questions of such about anything.
True, Broony. Thank you~! Niice, man. I'll blame society then. It's feels hard for me because I follow "The Way" the best I can.. and I still sometimes find myself asking questions that might not ever be answered.. or atleast "not yet", as you said. Us humans sure are stubborn, I guess. haha Do you think these types of questions should rather be kept behind us? Does it slow us down from living life? I'd rather keep it as just a thought, then. Not to be delt with in such a way as to make a reason for it. Thanks for your help, bro. I was really confused for a while... (kinda still am) but I guess thats human nature, to not know everything.
As Einstein said, "Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute."
What you have to ask yourself I think is which way of perceiving time is most helpful moment to moment. At certain point, perceiving time as whole cloth might be a truly enlightening experience. But there are probably moments when having a sense of past or future, which really just means having a sense of causality, is the only thing which will help you out. One piece of advice I have with psychedelics, and this is just my opinion on them, is that the extent of the good they can do is in that they open your mind to new possibilities. Some psychedlic "revelations" are horseshit or just plain stupid. Others are profound, life-altering religious experiences. That's why we come back to the sober state and don't spend all our time immersed in the trip. You have your normal cognitive abilities to help you deconstruct all experiences, and the psychedelic experience is no different. What you "realize" on a psychedelic trip should be filtered through your unstoned mind for a week or so afterward in order to be properly understood. It's not a matter of "trust the trip" or "trust your everyday mind"... trust both and use both for what they are helpful for. Also, I'd agree that it's very human not to know everything, but its also very human to seek truth. You can't know everything, but as long as you humble yourself and accept that I think it's wonderful to get a little philisophical at times. You can have a partial knowledge of things, and while there is no such thing as complete knowledge, there is a difference between different degrees of knowledge.
Thank you f(0)~ That's an interesting way of perceiving time. It seems I'm more enlightened about religious topics, rather than random ones that tend to come from nowhere. I have had "revelations"/etc before.. and I guess after I sobered up on this particular one, I tended to really try and understand or make sense of it because it was just so.. different. And so that is why I guess I came up with that b4. Even after looking at all possibilities it could be... Usually, I'm not one to rationalize or to fully understand my trips.. because they're 'trips'. And if they're interesting, then I'll just consider it another thing to 'possibly' be aware of, etc... So, I totally agree with you, man. I think I'm finally not so confused anymore. hahaha
Time is an illusion. It's all happening at the same time. Which is no time, because time is an illusion. There is only now. No past, no future.
Nalencer.. I dig that insight, man. Yah, I've just noticed that everyone tries to prepare and think of "whats to come"... Isn't life more interesting if you just live in the now? Well that's just my opinion, I guess.
