I was watching the idiot box today when a commercial for Coca Cola came on to the tune of a Rolling Stones song. It's so strange how a few decades ago, no self-respecting rock star or celebrity would be caught dead participating in a commercial, and now it's become a sort of rite of passage. I mean, can you imagine David Bowie pushing Swiffer Wetjet? Nowadays you're not a real A-list celebrity unless your head has been printed on a cereal box or you've signed a multi-million dollar contract with Pizza Hut. Weird...

That prompted some very bizzare mental images.

It is very irritating when bands 'sell out' but there might be another side to it. Self promotion of sorts. People might see the commerical, dig the song and discover the band through it.

There's a new commercial I dig for some type of camera, with Steven Tyler. :)

there is a cellphone commercial with a new singer named Katy Rose, and I dont think anyone heard of her before that commercial. I like it when unknown bands and musicians go on commercials and play their songs, but it disgusts me when one band member from a band does a commercial and they dont even play his or her music. that persons in it for the money and not to make the people happy, and that pisses me off
