Sugar cane being harvested, with the pvc pipes still in the field. I think something like 1 in 4 Americans now is pre-diabetic, which is millions of people who are over-dosing on sugar daily that is completley destroying their pancreas and it's ability to metabolize sugar. I know one soda today actually contains about 50 grams of sugar in a can which is truly astounding and most people don't actually read their food so they don't even know this. Also, everyone here should know that high fructose corn syrup is actually more dangerous than white sugar, which is monumentally dangerous. So when we see mountain dew ads advertising "natural" sodas with high fructose corn syrup, please know that this is actually less healthy than white sugar and the effect in the body is the same as any sugar. Likewise with aspertame and other neurotransmitter depleting chemicals that are about one step away from being converted into formaldehyde. The amount of sugar each American consumes per year has been growing by the year and our health bills have probably been growing too. (ByTheWay, if you think organic food is expensive, try getting seriously sick and becoming dependent on pharmaceutical drugs and other medical procedures which are arguably not nearly as healthy as preventative measures) So many people don't make the connection between white sugar and a decrease and well being, an increase in moodiness and bad nerves, and a huge increase of stress. White sugar creates neurochemistry imbalances that show up in behavior that is most likely the cause of ADD. It also createst extreme moodiness in adults and a lot of stress which I see and sense is more prevelant than ever. White sugar is literally like a drug and this book explores that concept in a profound way that shows us sugar in a light that most of us have never probably even considered. My kiniseologist friend Dr. Ed said this was the book that made him quite white sugar, so I picked up a copy just out of interest and I really really believe that is one of the most profound books you could pick up to learn not only how to increase your own well being but see what it is that is making American culture so crazy. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0446343129?ie=UTF8&tag=myspace0172-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0446343129 Sugar Blues
