Salvador Dali, especially Galacidalacideoxyribonucleicacid. (yes, that's really the name of the painting)
frida kahlo though I find her life/sketchbook more interesting than her actual paintings themselves. alotta illustrators: gustav klimt, kay nielson, audrey beardsly, john bauer!!!...and some newer stuff like stephen gammel (so eerie!) and nick blinko (also fronts one of my favorite bands, rudimentary peni...) umm I like a lot of illustrators, a good website for them is this thing on "livejournal" www.livejournal.com/~storybookland. pretty neat. I really like maya hayuk (http://mayahayuk.com/) I'm obsessed with loads of artists featured in juxtapoz and raw vision. listing them would be ridiculous....I dunno I guess trying to answer this was pointless as pinning down a favorite artist to me would be along the lines of pinning down a favorite alcoholic beverage...really I like them all!
figuratively i admire the work of lucian freud. the way he makes the flesh so natural and in a way honest (if that makes sense) . classical art id probably say bosch or botticelli. x
Dali was always my favorite in high school. After I had to do a report on him I became fascinated with his works.
Cesar Manrique: http://www.cesarmanrique.com/indexi.htm Went to the Galleria Cesar Manrique in Taro de tahiche, Lanzarote. It's a combination of a house, an art gallery and installation art. Fucking awesome. Also Antoni Gaudi. Anywhere you go in Barcelona you can see his work, he's known for organic lines and use of tiled mosaics. Also he did la Catedrala de la Sagrada Familia: http://www.itismajorana.it/studenti/Barcellona/barcelona/immagini/familia1.jpg
