My mom said that when I was like 5 I was like the TV guide. It was only 3 channels but still, I knew what show was coming on at what time one what day, at 5. I don't watch much TV now. I can live without it. It's just so full of bullshit. I like to watch movies more than I do TV.

WTF is up with so many hating on tv?

Last time i checked, tv is watched for ENJOYMENT. Why else do we do anything? Why do you work? Why do you read, write, and do things to make yourself happier? Just to make yourself feel better, thats why. If you think about it, the only things that arnt a waste of time is the things that make you laugh, and enjoy yourself. And thats what tv does. So everyone esle can go fucking do something for thier pleasure, while ill be laughing my ass off everynight watching back to back seinfeld episodes and another on fox 25 at 7, enjoying myself.

we just recently got into an agrument with our cable provider here....the dipshits decided to change theit billing cycle so our bill went from $60 to $300. I called them and told them to screw themselves.
The last few days we have had no TV and it's been pretty nice. I have gotten a lot more done around the house, played with my daughter more, and listened to the radio for the first time in a while. I found that the lur to go sit in the livingroom for a "break" went away...it was nice. Usually when I sat down for a "break" the whole day turned into a break and would be wasted.

It's more of less that the some what, subliminal propaganda, lies, and trash the t.v. presents out weighs the enjoyment it prevides. I don't believe that you HAVE to stop watching t.v. but I think it is wise to limit t.v. watching but it is so hard to find programs that are no brainwashing you and if you think you found some it's hard to know, if you are just so brainwashed that you didn't realized tht it was?

    brainwashed? please.

if your not mentally strong enough to watch TV without getting "brainwashed", then maybe it is best you avoid it.

Brainwashing can be sumliminal, you do not have to be weakminded to be brainwashed. It can creep up on you and comsume you and you can never know it. Also, I did not assume or insult you so it wasn't very nice to say that maybe It's best I avoid it. I was clarifing their messsge about t.v., not reinstating my own or ever agreeing.

As long as you spend your time doing other things like practicing sports and hanging out with friends, TV will not be harmful.

simple solution: all the ppl that despise news, weather, entertainment & education, don't buy a tv in the 1st place. But tv is fabulous. You can actually learn things from it, unless you watch mindless garbage like Edd ed and Eddy or something. Not all of it is mindless garbage. You can learn a lot from tv.

well, i now have a 13 inch t.v. that rarely ever gets turned on. i spend my time turning on my girlfriend.

i have gone years without watching a t.v., let alone even owning one.

p.s. i just restrung my guitars, so it will be turned on even less.(the t.v.that is.)

I agree tvs are evil but are they arn't that brain washing we think its cracked up to be. Im going to point out a television show just because I think it had the best point about tvs ever "Cow Boy Bepop". On some crazy episode some litle kid genius goes into a coma hacks the internet to start a cult threw the television. Some people fall for it others don't but there was always something super natural about the television projection. That was the greatest thing Iv'e ever herd about TV and it was on TV. So what do I make out of it just pure and simple human magic on the mind nothing more then making the fiction fact. Isn't that what we all want anyway. Its not the control you make it out to be its your lack of control in another word. Well thats how I see it anybudy with a argument or same view?
