So as you all know I let my dreads go a few days ago. I do not want to go back to using shampoos and conditioners that are artificial and chemically laden. I want my new head of hair to full, lush, and naturally strong and healthy. I have done a bit of research on homemade shampoos and have found that using a base of Dr. Bronner's with my own essential oils and diluted with herbal teas for my hair type is the way to go...but what about a conditioner? Plus I have to wait until a couple of bills clear my account to make any more purchases, and it had been a couple of days and my hair was getting oily and funky, so I just used the plain Tea Tree Bronner's soap I have now, and I attempted using baking soda as a sort of conditioner/residue remover. It did leave my hair feeling softer, but I'm wondering if it's something I could use regularly. Anyone have any input? If so I would appreciate it. My last head of hair before I started my dreads was kept straight with shampoos that, while they claimed to be natural, were still full of gunk and residue building softening agents. I think those contributed to weighing my hair down and making me have thinner hair. This time around I want the thickest, fullest hair possible.
i just use bronners & well my hairs way way too thick & full..lol u really rarely need conditioners i use a mist thats herbs & oils..use it very rarely in general bronners teatree seems to be all i need if i condition i do it once every several months rain is the best conditiober\ something abpout rain water just always leaves your hair so soft
