FUCKING OWN! Satanic Panic in the Attic is a masterpiece... Anyone have the new Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? I think they are one of the most underated and overlooked bands of our time.
Yeah, they are pretty good. Satanic Panic is a good CD. What I love most about the band is their ability to change their musical style with each CD and still churn out awesome music. On practically every CD, it felt like I was listening to a different Of Montreal, but I love it! I'm headin out to the mall in a little bit and I'm gonna pick up Hissing Fauna... I'll post back with my thoughts on it. Kevin Barnes kinda creeps me out though. I mean, hes played shows naked before....
not only are they a great band, they're one of the best live shows you can find. i've seen them twice and both times have been outstanding. their stage presence is just phenomenal.
Well, I purchased Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? the other night. I've got to say, I'm not all that impressed. For all the hype its been getting, I'm downright dissapointed. I enjoyed The Sunlandic Twins and Satanic Panic... much more than I have their latest release. Maybe it will grow on me with time. I sure hope so. Right now, I'd say its a 6/10...
Kevin Barnes kinda creeps me out too, hahah. I think "Hissing..." will grow on you man, but I'm with you, "Satanic" still has the upper hand.
I love Of Montreal. Have you guys seen that fucking Outback Steakhouse commercial where they rip off Of Montreal and just change the words to their song?!
Yeah Stella, Fuck that commercial hahaha. But whatever, I would have a hard time turning down thousands of dollars just so it wouldn't seem like I'm "Selling Out"
Satanic Panic in the Attic is a great album, but I cannot believe that no one has mentioned Icons, Abstract Thee OR The Sunlandic Twins. Those albums are a must-have! be your own WALTER
Outback didn't rip off Of Montreal; Of Montreal recorded the song and agreed to advertise for Outback. They thought it would be neat to see what it would be like to do a commercial.
For Of Montreal fans, you guys sure swear a lot. I'm glad they made the switch from concept albums to the dancey stuff, but none of the new albums seem quite as special as the older ones. Still, the guy is an amazing pop songwriter... right up there with Daniel Johnston and (early) Harry Nilsson!
