Just left Haarlem, now for Belgium. All I can say so far is wow. 2 days in Amsterdam, and a night and day in Haarlem. Haarlem is a wonderful city. I wish I had stayed there longer. It is what I imagined Amsterdam would be like. I will post more when I can but this is my first chance to even think about being online. The Verdamper blows my little volcano away. makes it seem like a toy. Put it this way - last night I walked all the way back down there just to hit it again. The staff at the Indica are the best! We felt like we were at home. So far, the bst shops we have been to in Amsterdam Amnesia A++ amnesia haze, honey-b, great service - this place is run properly. Special attention here. Seek this place out. It is worth it. Rokerj Excellent NLx5 haze. Great service - Left passport - staff chased me down the street with it to return it to me , just about the time I realized I left it. (heh, ok so I WAS STONED!) The ambience here was great. great place to hang out. Resin - Stopped in on our way to the hotel because it was the first place I saw. Hash haze. Very good. Very friendly locals. everyone in the place was trying to help us get oriented. Kadinsky - Brown Sugar Hash, hash haze. Bud tending girl was about as outgoing and friendly as they come. Great weed, great place to hang out. Highly recommend. 420 cafe - try everything - I did! great staff, very friendly. super silver haze was my favorite here Abraxas - I cant remember what we smoked here, but we tried two things that were excellent. Very friendly staff. Grey Areas - Closed - This is sort of becoming a recurring theme everytime I go to Amsterdam. Im not even sure im going to try to go there at the end of the week. It wasnt even Monday. Homegrown Fantaseeds - sometimes not being the typical ass and snapping away with the camera pays off. The guy was so happy I actually asked to photograph his plants that he let me INSIDE the chamber to take close ups. Sweet! Since its not possible for me to grow, I guess I will adopt them for now. Do not stay at Swisshotel for any reason. period. Whether you are a smoker or not, but especially if you are a smoker. We werent even smoking, and the night female desk girl was a total bitch to us. One time I was coming out of my room, and I caught here standing in my doorway. She kept finding reasons to need to be in our room. One time she came up with security insisting that we were smoking, and that she could smell it. (we werent smoking, at least not in the hotel room.) Security guy could see we werent smoking, then she started making up bullshit about the fire alarm going off and just needing to make sure we were still alive, right... I will spare you the details now, but it was amazing how every night she found very creative ways to interrupt our privacy. You can bet I will be writing a letter to Swisshotel about this young Lady. We knew their no drugs no smoking policy before we even left the states. And we abided by it. However little missy developed a non-ending interest in us. We cancelled our second stay there as well, of course. thats about all I can type for the moment. I will have pictures soon! I will be back in Amsterdam in two days! Yay!
Nice to hear more good news from the NL. My first taste of Haarlem was on 28Apr at Indica on the way back from Zandvoort, and it is indeed a nice place. Must get back to Haarlem and explore more...on bicycle. The image of James on his black bike cruising past us as we walked back to the train station haunts me. Enjoy all those lekker combustibles and don't give up on the Grey Area. When you finally roll up on an open GA, it will be worth it.
Spent a week in Haarlem in November 10 thru the 18th had a blast. I will be back in AMS this year for the Cup. Just got back from Q-day with the Piggies. alot of really stone folk.
Temple ball is still there, and still great. Have a look. We also really enjoyed the Mako Haze. I recommend this, as well as the Sticky fingers. Laughing Buddha was quite potent, but you must have iron lung.
