And at the worst possible time too.... so my car was fine yesterday.... I'm REALLY REALLY bad at describing car problems so hopefully this will make sense- Today I was on city streets and when accelerating it felt like my car would just lag for a second or two and then just go. It was bumpy and weird. Then I took my car off of over-drive (which is what everyone told me is best to drive it in) and I made it the 20 minutes home without that happening again... but it still felt "weird" when pushing on the accerelator- just kinda more forced then usual. What could be wrong with it? I'm really really hoping nothing.
You may want to get your tranny serviced at a reputable shop anyway. Just tell them you need a fluid and filter change. They'll check its condition while they're in there. (here comes the transvestite/sex change jokes)
Haha tranny..that made me laugh. I'll look into that for this weekend if the car keeps acting like that. Thanks a bunch.
I'm hoping if anything is it just a filter or plugs... I mean my car was just inspected two months ago.... no lights came on (service lights) and it's not like I beat the shit outta the car. I don't accelerate fast or anything like that so I'm fairly confident it won't be the whole transmission. *knocks on wood*
Assuming it's automatic, it sounds like probably low transmission fluid or possibly the torque converter locker (if equipped) is not working properly. It could also be the Throttle Position Sensor not working properly as that can affect shift points and engine response under acceleration. Trans fluid (ATF) is cheap, topping it up you can probably do yourself for free if you find the filler cap... a TC locker is probably integral to the transmission and will cost $$$, and a TPS would be maybe $50 plus labor if that's the problem.
Thanks. Yeah I'll probably take it somewhere I trust to get looked at. It seems to be doing better now but it kinda did it once more. So Idk, we shall see. I just hope it's cheap.
