Okay well almost all Australians love AFL, drinking beer and eating. Just go on Dogpile.com or google and search a bit.
I found one and i am not sure about it.. mmm, is this an Australian costum?? please say yes its so cute!!
Excuse me,, what is AFL? by the way i've been looking for an Australian costum for about 2 weeks and I finaly found that one.. Thanks anyway,,
no we dont do irish dancing we dont really have a customs like that basically afl is australian football league. its a game. we like barbeques and drinking we dont really have customs like that.
No no no no :bigcry: I am taird !!! Ireland and Australia wear the same costums, arent they?? both of them wear English costums am I right??
no no no do you mean costume? or custom? well australia is hot and sunny and england is cold and rainy so we dont really wear the same stuff. we are more similar to america in the way we dress perhaps. but we are more laid back. we enjoy lazy afternoons, after lunch naps, barbeques, beer, football or cricket, and going to the beach. a stereotypical australian costume would be an akubra(hat) with a singlet, stubbies (shorts) and thongs (flip flops)
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnkkkk you soooo much but that costume is for woman?? coz it seems for men
Nope, I think that's Irish. They might be Australian girls, but they're done up in Irish national dress. Australia doesn't have a "national dress" the way some other countries do - costumes like Germany's lederhosen or India's saris have developed over hundreds of years of tradition. The traditional Indigenous dress is to either go nude, or a loincloth. In really cold places maybe add some animal skins to keep warm. Obviously nobody dresses like that anymore, though - in Indigenous communities these days, the dress tends to be shorts and singlet or t-shirt, or a dress - just normal everyday clothes. For formal events, we'll wear a suit or gown like you'd see in America or any other Westernised country - but like Moonshine said, most of Australia's pretty hot, so you can get away with being more casual than you can in other places. Good luck with the presentation!
Thanks alot Ethel for your Answer! I asked my dad yesterday about the Irish dress, he said that Ireland and Australia were mmm i dont know whats the word ( sorry i dont have many vocaps :& ) mm they were like Palestine and Israel now, they were ( word that i forgot ) from British control, so they wear British costums .. Anyway i aunsderstood you but for exampel my friend'll present Chaina so she'll wear chainese dress and one of the girls'll present some middel eastern contries so she'll wear Arabic costume, I'll present Australia but I cant wear jeanz and t shirt hhhhh! so do you think it'll be ok if i wear British cosume?? hope you Answer me
Hmmm... You could go done up like Steve Irwin. Let's see if I can get a photo to work... this isn't mine, I just nicked it off the web: That basic kind of outfit - khaki shirt and shorts, with big boots - is how a lot of people dress for labouring kind of work, like tradesmen or canefarmers. (Cattlemen tend to be a bit better dressed.) If you can't find khaki, navy blue is common as well. If you want a cheap laugh, you could wear a hat with corks around it: That style of hat is pretty common... but I have NEVER seen anyone wearing one with corks on it! The story goes they used to wear them like that in the outback, so you could shake your head and the bobbing corks would scare the flies away. Don't know how true it is, though.
Thanks alot Ethel, That hat is cute, thay are realy smart, it'd help me alot, I'll make me a hat and i'll wear it while iam presenting Thanks again it was realy nice and funny info.. I have a Q: can I say mate with s? like in Good day mates
Australian Customs. Well it is far more rigid for tourists thats for sure. As far as other customs. Suppose they range from Rugby to surfing to typical English past times. When I mean English, I mean Australian customs are very similar if not linked together.
Have you been to England or are you just talking myth? We're hotting up actually, infact there isn't a cloud in the sky today and it's bloody sunny and everybody's wearing hardly anything! Sure, we get rain and it does get cold (mainly around autumn / winter time)... but it's good for the environment and keeping our pastures green and fertile...not dried out and desert like.
