I mean its nice to know that there are different kinds of art, but is it really worth it going through the different kidns to find out what your really good at. Im just saying, its kinda hard to find out what you really like, and what you dont. ily <3;Bye hun.
Art is important for all people. Creativity remains a fundamental human act. But art, at least where I come from, has become more of a commodity than an expression. Art schools have institutionalized the making of art and made it stale and academic. They create career artists, not necessarily expressive ones. Art, in the end, shouldn't be about being famous or glorified as "a genius" (whatever that means); it should be about being human. One thing art history reveals is that most of what's considered "great art" was funded by, commissioned by, and subsequently made for, rich people. And those same rich people determined what "great art" was and is. They set the standard. For most of european history art was an upper class thing almost exclusively (and that includes music). The wonderful thing about the 20th century is that art slowly has become more and more accessible to a wider population. Though it still remains a domain mainly of the upper class today (look who sits on the boards of museums and art societies; they ultimately decide who the "geniuses" are), the idea of "doing art" has trickled down to the middle class. We need to make it a part of everyone's life, not just a select few.
Because art is a thing of beauty, that has its rules after all. In order to do art, you need to know the rules. But then, you can do art anyway, can you?
All people have reasons why they study art. For me, art helps me either escape from reality or face this reality. ______________________ liza Get free Philips manuals
Because its an easy option. If you have a inkling of talent it can come fairly easy. We bums know a good deal, the line of least resistance.

the desire to express ourselves creatively is what MAKES us "human". although 'art' as such, isn't the only way of doing so. art, now that we have cameras and such, isn't or needn't be, about showing people what is, or how we choose to see what is, but about expressing what would be, could be should be. (illustrative arts of course i'm refering to, that being the context here, with other forms of creative expression having their own forums). =^^= .../\...
i could not have said it better myself. music is like that too, but different. have you ever looked at a painting or a drawing or something and suddenly you feel different? or created one and felt different? thats why.
When you take a picture of me, you have an image of me on the outside at the exact moment to picture was taken. When you look at a painting or a drawing I've done, you have an image of me on the inside, over the course of either a few hours, or even a few months. While the picture of me is stagnant, and I will eventually grow to look nothing like me; the art I have done is alive, and will continue to change as different people see it in different ways. It is, in essence, my mind and soul in a form that people can see and understand.
