After writing absolutely nothing but essays for months, I decided today with a head full of adderall to write a poem... about an hour and a half to two hours collective work scattered throughout at random times (started it in 6th period, continued it after school at a friend's, finished it at work and just now revised it) so apologies for any choppy transitions. A few corny/filler lines and cliches I'm working on dropping, this isn't quite the finished product... I do like it, though I think the last 12 lines or so could use some serious work. Anyways, I'm quite overconfident on adderall and would really like to be told if this is complete garbage, so don't hold back.

Take my hand, little girl, lets fly away,
To the realm where memory dies,
Where life is no more and existence is death,
And the answer to nothingness lies….
All sound you perceive will hold not a word,
While emotion is revealed but a dream,
As being quells out your chemical joy,
And the starlight dies quick as it gleams…
Where scripture and law shall draw no more lines,
For good is as wicked as night,
And virtue will place you with murder and theft,
While deceit may well bring you to light…
When black is the color and white’s slipped away,
And bonds serve no need to stand strong,
Shall you shatter your mind when you finally see,
Your first love was your last all along?
Consider at will all you shall lose,
All you know and have dared to hold near,
And though all there’s to do is scream for your life,
Know the freedom will outlast the fear…
Slide your fingers in mine as we try flying on,
To where illusion’s no longer a choice,
You won’t feel a thing from the undying screams,
Nor comfort from mother’s sweet voice…
To cope and deny is to squander your time,
For accepting is all that will do,
In your head it may seem like a desolate hell,
But this hell is all that is true…
A prison with walls you won’t ever see,
    This endless and frightening place,
Where the mind is no more than dust on the wing,
And God has escaped into space.
Cast it away, this sensation of pain,
For the joy has been eons away…
Send one final glance through my poor mortal eyes,
    And say goodbye.
