why do some people get so obsessed with famous people? it doesnt make much sense to me... today, sammy hagar was in the studio. i only saw the back of his head, but i didnt give a shit about him. then again, he is only sammy hager...i'd get a boner over devendra banhart before i got one over samer hager. devendra banhart is the shit the band im working with, the guitarest got totally starstruck and kept on delaying his performancings by wanting to take pictures with sammy and calling his mom to tell him that sammy hager is in the studio So what do you think? do you get starstruck easily?
I've been trying lately to view musicians who I look to as gods as people just like me, recording in their homes and such. It's kind of hard, though, to think of people like David Bowie in the same way you think of some guy from open mic. I don't know... it feels better when you think about them being normal people, I guess.
Celebrities are just people put in extraordinary circumstances and few are mentally equipped to handle the extra stress. It's no small wonder that so many end up in rehab, prison, or worse. Few can handle the constant attention and intrusion into their privacy. I doubt I could.
Most of the time I don't worry about it, but I like to keep track of the "known" people I've met, in case someone ever brings them up or met them too. I never met Peter Frampton, but the time I saw him in concert, my friend's uncle took me back into the depths of backstage Verizon Wireless Amphiteatre and he was just chilling there with his daughter Mia, playing Penny For Your Thoughts. I wanted to ask him to show me how to play it real quick, but he was playing with his daughter. It was a really beautiful moment, though. I like to see people touring and doing what they love, but the ones that still maintain a good family and do all of that for their fans are always the ones I fall in love with.
Famous people are just people... I have always treated them like I treat the common person... well. (Even though David Bowie and Lou Reed are way beyond people, they are golden gods!)
i used to live next to a celebrity. never was starstruck (actually, i didnt know she was famous til i moved, haha.. but i just went "oh weird, and all this time i was more interested in her hair than her career") i could see how someone would be starstruck if like, say, you were an actor and the person who inspired you to become an actor..if you met them. but beyond that i dont get it. but i dont really idolize people, and i think that makes a difference.
I think there's a difference between being starstruck about a musician or artist then there is say pairs Hilton.
I don't care at all about the celebrities who are constantly being talked about. I really don't understand what's so "interesting" about them. Yeah, there are a few famous people I really like or admire, but I'm not interested in every single detail of their lives.
Nope, I'm glad I'm not easily starstrucked. However I find it sometimes funny how fanatic some people are about getting a signature, I find it pretty sad and annoying as well. Those people just don't get it!
The only celebrities I'm crazy about are the Beatles. And I think every one knows why. I mean, the reason I like them isn't because their celebrities or anything. It's way, way more than that. Other than that...I'm not really the type of person to be all obsessed with celebs. Your right, their just people. I've always thought that same thing.
