Hi everybody! nice to meet you all. my name is Evi, i am Belgian and moved to Enid, OK in januari. my husband is from Enid. we just got our own place and are hooked up to the net, so i'm taking the opportunity to look around to meet new people and maybe even find fellow Belgians in the States. everybody is really friendly here but i find it hard to meet people, so it's a lil lonely to be honest is anybody in here from Enid or OK? hmmm what else...? i'm 25, i absolutely love music and history. my music taste is all over the place, from motown to big band, classical music, 50's and 60's, metal and rock'n roll,.... the list is endless really feel free to ask questions i'm here to get to know some new people anyways, nice to meet you! :jester: Evi
Hello Evi & Welcome to the forums. I once visited Belgium and really enjoyed my time there. I stayed right on the coast just nort of France. Have yourself a merry ole time here. Peaceful thoughts your way..... Farmout
hey steveint99, dylanzeppelin and farmout thank you for the welcoming i guess that answers my previous question straight away, this place is active it's nice to meet you all. how did you guys stumble upon this place? farmout, do you remember the name of the town you went to? was it long ago?
Evi, It was several years ago, maybe early 1980 or so. I am not sure of the spelling, but the name of the town sounded like Cocksid? I know that spelling is wrong, but that is kinda what it sounded like when the locals spoke the name. It was great fun, and I met many many locals who took me into their homes and made me feel like I was one of them! Great people. Peace to you Evi..... Farmout
OH, Koksijde probably http://www.koksijde.be/ ? we are pretty nice :H hehe. did you know marvin gaye lived at the belgian coast for a while? he used to live in Oostende and actually wrote his comeback "sexual healing" there. he seemed to like hanging out with the locals himself, all the footage there is is him walking and talking and having drinks with em. ... sorry this was really random :&
ireland is one of those places i really want to go to sometime. it seems so beautiful over there! thanks for the welcome
Evi, Yes, you are correct. That was the very spot! Wonderful folks, great lil pubs. Tasty beverages there too. Koksijde was the name. I met some of the older folks there too as well, and they were very friendly too. Some would have been the age of my father at the time I was there, and he passed through Belgium with the army during wwll. Long ago and far away. I wish to go back there one day. I have been fortunate enough to visit many different countries, but Belgium was by far my favorite! Followed closely by New Zealand. Same kind of friendly happy people, not so obsessed with chasing the almighty buc like they are here in the US. Peaceful thoughts your way Evi.... Farmout
