Thats what I tell my wife, that shes a cradle robber as shes 3 years my senior. Guess I should get over it, since we both get the senior discount at the grocery store. Both have A.A.R.P. cards in our wallets. Shes got one on me now, she just received her FREE, lifetime hunting, fishing and trapping license from the state of Alaska. You get them when you turn the big 60........
I remeber when was a virgin and just gettin into "dating guys" and when they were sweeter then. But really all they wanted was your "WooHoo". And your mom would always tell you that and you would tell her that she didn't know what she was talking about until you found out. But what I'm trying to say is that why guys can't be sweet and stuff like I remeber growing up. When they did "Everything" they could just for that noe night Damn stand. Shit!!!...loloklololololol
A lot of young people today have absolutely no concept or understanding of the word "dating." For anyone puzzled by this term, it refers to going out on "dates" (activities) but which do not necessarily result in either "going together" or "hooking up" or even "dating" further. My kids are adults now, but when they were teens, it was (in their social circles) completely unacceptable to "go on a date" with anyone that you weren't in an established relationship with. Hooking up would be okay but not more than rarely or it makes one a "slut." They could hardly grasp the concept even when my wife and I would explain it at length. They would ask things like "so it's like going steady except only for a week or two, wow, things sure were weird back then." They're both in happy, long-term relationships, but still haven't the foggiest understanding of that ancient time when people "just went on dates sometimes." But they do find the notion to be amusing in a quaint, old-fashioned sort of way.
I think there's a lot of sociological history in 'dating'. Nice girls 'wouldn't' on a first date.Does this mean they did on the second or third or untill a ring was on their finger?... So many American films of the 1950s-60s have teen-age girls going out on bobby-sox crush 'dates' with the greased quiff jack-the-lads who show off their new 'set of wheels'. I agree with the comment that modern day dating bears little resemblence to it's nostalgic yersteryear counterpart.Maybe there should be a campaign to restore old-tyme 'dating' but we'd need to bring back all the bowling alleys, all nite diners etc.
