First off, sorry for all the questions

I've had them for about a month, and just did my second washing. The reason I am worried about them not loosening up, is I've seen people say that they loosen up then get fat and tight, and mine only get loose at the roots. This is most likely because me and my mom backcombed them over spring break for 20hr+ instead of the 3-5 hours I've seen other people say they did it for. Should I try and pull them apart a little to loosen them up? I really like fat dreads, unfortunately the sections aren't that big, I have around 45 dreads.

just relax there buddy, you worry about 'em too much!!...........it will work itself out in time, no reason to stress......just let 'em do their thing.......the locks know whats best, all you gotta do is live your life, and occassionally rip 'em down if they're congoin' fatter than you like...

Also 1 month isn't long at all........they're still in the conception stage.....

ach, why would anyone worry that they aren't loosening? I'd say that's a pretty good thing :) just stop worrying about those dreads boy, they'll be fine. have fun!

    Alright cool

Oh, do roots dread up by themselves, and is there a way to speed it up?

And does rubberbanding the tips help them dread/round the tips?

they should dread up on their own, don't use the bands though. they look goofy and do nothing. just leave your hairs alone, if you really want to you can try rubbing the roots around on your scalp, but I think that if you just stop messing the hairs will have no choice but to dread. enjoy :)
