Yeah I saw that clip of Richard Gere and that lady (can't remember her name, sorry). It looked kinda ... I dunno.. gross lol. He did go a bit far in my opinion.. But I won't be boycotting his films coz I never watch them anyway.

ah yes, i heard about that. i'm not willing to pass judgment on situations i don't know the real honest reliable details about. my only thought in passing is that thoughtlessness is thoughtlessness, and a big part of what has the world we live in screwed up.

i don't know anything about the individuals invoulved either, and neither need nor want to. i don't think much of anyone thinking they are above local customs because the're otherwise some kind of a big deal, and appearantly this is how the local authorities there felt and reacted. whether they were completely within reason or being completely rediculous or somewhere in between, again not having been there or knowing anyone who was, i have no idea which is the case.

as for actors in mundane maindstream movies. b.f.d. mainstream mundaneness is crap anyway so i could care less about that part of it.

it's not like i'd be "boycotting" anything i would otherwise be going to go see anyway.

so meh. just another smoke screan to attract attention away from any sort of real news that would be of any remote use or interest to anyone with half a brain.

other then to note in passing that thoughtlessness isn't cool on general principals anyway.

To me ignorance is ignorance, and those decency laws are as ignorant as any. I'm for tolerating any culture on the planet, but I will not support any law that represses human emotion and affection, regardless of where it's enforced. I view this as I would someone busted for pot possession. Yeah it is a law, but a foolish one, and so I will speak out against it not support it.

Foreign ignorance is still ignorance. America isn't the only repressed nation on the planet.
