German Metal

My favorite flavor is industrial metal, but we can discuss it all.

Any other fans? Rammstein, Megaherz, Eisbrecher, Stahlhammer? What about medieval metal such as In Extremo or Tanzwut?

 

In Extremo is ok, especially live. I'm not a fan of industrial metal though. I do like some albums from that genre, but they're not from German bands

Dark Fortress, definitely. One of the best black metal bands of the millennium, with a great sense of song structure and melody, and very tight in performance. I think Stab Wounds could be this decennium's Nemesis Divina!
Also Falkenbach, a great NS-folk project with a very genuine-sounding atmosphere, especially the album 'Ok nefna tysvar ty', a great album for cozy December evenings.

I also kind of like Rammstein (especially the album 'Mutter'), and a little bit of Blind Guardian.

 

Gamma Ray also has some great cliché heavy metal albums. Check out Powerplant!

 

My favorite german metalbands would have to be Bethlehem, Aasekereia and Luror. But I don't believe anyone here would know them.

 

I'm amazed to be enjoying the latest Absurd cd, 'Raubritter'. The last time I heard anything of them it sounded like a garage punk band consisting of some 12-year olds, only worse. 'Raubritter' is okay, though.

Of reasonable quality are also Endstille (the song 'With the fog they come' rules), Morrigan and Creature.

Anyway, this isn't a hippie forum per se, it's a free speech forum with just an awful lot of hippies posting in it.

 

doomshine is probably my favorite german metal band. epic doom metal, very awesome and dark stuff. i actualy found a copy of their record in a local shop, which was a huge suprise.

 

I want to add Desaster, Barad Dür and Graven, and express my shock and shame that I forgot to mention Kreator.

 

Most definately Kreator, rammstein, scorpions, blind guardian.
