ok. so 2 days ago my dreads were doing fine. then i washed them. now almost every single one of them is loose almost to the point of just coming out. and they're poofy. is this bad or something? will they tighten up in time? should i have washed them so soon?(it was my 5th day having them) i meen. i'm really worried about them. kinda stressing, too.

Dont worry, I worried when that happened to me and I went and messed with them (extra backcombing, twist n rip etc), but i regret doing that now. I was palm rolling and crocheting to try and keep them apart and look neat, and in the process of doing so I was getting tight skinny sticks, not fatties. So I left them alone after that and they returned to poofy and loose after a few washes.... and thats when they really started knotting up.
Loose and puffy will mean they can shrink and fatten up, whereas palm rolling a lot is good if you want em to be long and thin. Ive learned this the hard way! You need them to be loose in order for them to have room to lock up. So hang on in there. Keep something loose on each root if you're worried they might all merge together, but apart from that be really patient, like everyone will tell you.
Hope that helps, good luck ;)
