I learned ASL a while back but haven't used it in a long time, therefore I forgot a lot of it...but I still know the basics. It comes in handy once in a while...
Are you taking it for any specific reason? A deaf loved one perhaps? Or just to learn?

I learn just for fun. I´ve been always fascinated by that, it looks great, it´s so wonderful quiet ... .

People normaly don´t hear me, I always have to repeat what I said, cause I´m so quiet. And I go crazy when other people talk so loud.
So, it´s the perfect way to "talk" for me.
The class is for everyone who wants to learn it and who´s able to pay it.
I go there with 2 friends of mine. So, we really have fun with it and it´s pretty handy, if you wanna talk somewhere in a loud atmosphere or you´re on different sites of a window.

Maybe I´ll be able to use it in a job, someday. I´ll see. Would be great though. I still have to learn a lot, cause I just had 1 of 4 courses.

I'm taking sign right now... I took it all summer at the Deaf Centre, and now I'm away at uni again and taking it here. (Unfortunately the uni course is a dead repeat of the Deaf Centre - even using the same book - so I"m really not learning anything right now) I love it though, I love signing, and I don't even know why. When I'm done my current degree (BA in Sociology) I'm going to take some time off, get my ASL fluency, and go to college for the two-year ASL teacher's course. I'd really like to work with deaf toddlers and young children, teaching them sign.
