    Hello everybody :)

Yesterday I had my first experience with Salvia:
First, I cut off two big leafs from my Salvia-Plant. After that, I'd have to dry them. I've read a lot about drying Salvia, and so I tried out the "oven"-method (Put the leafs in the oven for about at 200 Degrees maximum, wait until they are crispy). At next, I reduced the leafs to small pieces and put them in my waterpipe and started smoking: I had to swallow all the time, because the smoke was so hot, but anyway, somehow I did it (kept in the smoke for about 20 secs, then started smoking again). But then - nothing happened. My intuition told me, that something was there, I could feel it, but still far away. Has anyone of you made experience with drying the leafs by yourselfes? Did I do something wrong? What is the best way to dry?

    Greets,
    Shitaka :)

nice that you have a salvia plant!

2 (4-5") leaves would be enough if you smoked them intently.
also 1 (8-9 inch) leaf should do.
less prolly won't get you to a threashold.

the first time you may not notice the effects at levels:
    S-A-L-
even level 4, -V-, can come and go without you being aware of it the first time.
level 5 is a major shock, always a surprise, frequently nice, level 6 is nuts.

try again, make sure you get at least 4-5 big tokes and hold them for at least 20 seconds each, with a short breath between.

    good luck.

The plant isn't that large yet, but I will try to grow it up a little more :). Maybe I can take some picture of it, too...

So thanks for the fast answer!
I will try that out as fast, as possible. But I still don't know, if my way to dry the leaves was the right one :(. Do you maybe know anything about drying salvia-leaves?

I get them dry by putting them in a drawer uncovered, or in a big box with the lid on loosely.
    takes a couple of days.
until my plant gets bigger I only take what falls off.
soemtimes I cut off the brown edge of leaves and save it.

Make sure you are using a torch lighter for salvia must vaporize (especially if it is not an extract) to feel it's remarkable affects. And I recommend putting ice in your waterpipe to cool and compact the hits, this will make them easier on your throat/lungs and give you larger hits which is key because you want to take as much smoke in as possible in the shortest amount of time.

I may be repeating all that you found when you looked into salvia but thought I'd give these important tips just in case.

    Good luck!
