I am tired of people telling me because I eat organic fruits veggies and grains that my baby will be born malnurished.I am sick of people telling me that because I do not eat eggs that my baby will born with failing kidneys. I am sick of people telling me that because I eat soy products that my baby's heart won't function properly. And I am sick of people trying to force feed me food that I don't eat, and I am pissed that my father in law says he feels really bad for his grandchild because he or she is being deprived of food and vitamins and nurishment!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that sista. It's too bad people don't understand, but at least their hearts are in the right place. They just want the best for your baby, but they are a little ignorant.
im of the popular opinion that cheap shots and jabs isn't being concerned its being a jerk. these people are gloating and thinking aha! now what I've said all along is true, she can't be a vegan anymore...this is really annoying to me
A while ago I met a 3rd generation Vegan, her grandmother was 85 and had been vegan since she was very young. This person was living proof that a vegan diet will not cause any damage to an unborn baby
hey mama you're doin' the right thing! i've had 3 babies.. and with the first too gave in and ate chicken and fish AND GOT SERIOUSLY ANEMIC! with my third pregnancy i was nearly vegan.. i felt much better. check out this family http://www.thegardendiet.com/ i think they'll back you %100 too.
there are always those who will critisize no mater what you do, if people can be healthy on a vegan diet than obviously a fetus can be properly nurished on that same diet.
I think it's going to just come down to what is healthy for you and your baby. As long as you are getting everything you need than who cares where you get it from? Tell them to go bug the pregnant women that eat mcdonalds everyday, thats who they should be bugging!
I had a thing for tacobell and burger king when I was pregnant. My liver nearly failed and I ended up on a vegan diet for the next year because my body couldn't manage the extra work of digesting dairy or meat for the longest time after that. I don't know about vegan because I personally make a horrid vegan, but eating organic can only do good things for that baby.
