hey guys, i need a little bit of help! im going on a trip to amsterdam in a few months with a group of friends and unfortunely, two of them will be 17 at the time we are there. will they have any trouble getting onto the coffee shops, smoking ect? what i particually mean is: do the bud-tenders check id cards for age? will a simple fake id from www.phatism.com do? I REALLY need good help on this because they might cancel if they think that they wont be able to smoke up cause that will ruin the trip for them cause we are going for the bud!!! thanks, miles12
Yes they will have a problem. I would wait until they are 18. They will have a much better time. If you do go, dont bring them in the Coffeeshops with you. They could shut the whole place donw because of a little lack of good judgement.
It will work until the cops come in, and your buddies are foreign tourists with under 18 passports. Remember, as in many places, You must carry your passport with you at all times in the Netherlands. You dont want to wind up in jail in a foreign country. Be sure you let your friends know what the dealio is before you drag them all the way there. Im not saying that you couldn't POSSIBLY get away with it - Its just that for the cost, it would be better to go somewhere else till next year, and then live the dream for real. Its no fun getting high wonderig if the cops are going to bust in at any moment. And they do come into the shops to check things out.
yes, that is true. i have also heard that smoking is only aloud in the coffee shops....is \that even true or can i go in, buy 5 gramms of sticky, then go to anothe rplace for my friends to smoke up?
Go to Vondel Park. If the police come to you you will be in trouble but your USA skills should keep that from happening.
Heres a better idea - Experience the next best thing. This year, go to San Francisco, and visit Haight Ashbury district. spend a week there. I did that when I was around you and your buddies age. I had a great time there. Theres tons of cool people, and plenty of herb. You will be as legal as you would be in Amsterdam, but youll blend in better. Then, next year spend the big bucks on Amsterdam when you are all legal.
