Anybody ever heard of Throbbing Gristle? I've been listening to some samples from them, and man are they weird! What's with these guys? They even strike me as on the verge of psychopathy. They're all pretty strange but I think the lead vocalist, Genesis P-Orridge takes the cake. Anybody know/have an opinion on what they're all about and why they're so weird?
Not so weird, but good. P-Orridge is too calculating and poppish for a psychopath. Partly they are about other people’s ideas, partly about themselves. As usual
I heard/read things about their live shows, and personally, I dont think it would be anything I would particularly like to see. defication, mutilation, and whatever else they do is not my type of thing, really. and I wouldnt really consider it performance art (as what they packaged it as)
They apparently don’t suffer from constipation Anyway and unfortunately, the new TG album is extremely boring, in my opinion. I couldn’t even listen to it to the end. They have had their great days, though – TG’s early concerts, some PTV’s concerts of the 80s, and, of course, some Zos Kia/Coil albums.
I should check out Psychic TV - I've heard of them only recently... What other names do they go under?
