Do hippies care about the way they dress?

I just love this bright blue jacket. And since I ride a bicycle all over people can really see me and I feel safer with it on.
do you like it too?

As long as I feel good about what I'm wearing it's okay. I hate wearing too small/tight clothes, because they're uncomfortable!
I'm not really vain or anything.
When it comes to looks I usually do the following:

I don't wear make-up, because it takes too much time to put on and it's kinda pointless.
I usually wear jeans and a shirt, but I also wear some accessories(sp?) to make sure it doesn't look too boring. But not always, it just depends on my mood.
I hardly ever cut my hair, and it's mostly just lose (and I don't even usually brush it..).

After all it all depends on my mood how much effort I put into my looks. When I feel like wearing a bit of make-up (which mostly isn't the case), I wear a bit of make-up. When I feel like wearing a skirt, I put on a skirt.

 

I think thats a fucking neat jacket. I have a green 3/4 length trenchcoat.

 

I care that i am able to dress how I like. I dont really care when my friends say my outfit is a little strange. I think its funny that now and then my friends will tease me and say "OH, look, you match reall well today" or whatever. In the summer especially im comfortable in a t-shirt or a tank top and a skirt (and i dont see why a t-shirt doesnt 'match' with a skirt.) Skirts and jeans- thats what i live in outside of work.

So, yeah, i care that im comfortable. I care that i like my clothes. I care that i feel good in my clothes. I care that i am allowed to wear clothes that i like. (and i care that they dont smell ) My clothes do not need to fit some mold or impress others.

 

I don't give two shits about wat people think about how i dress i just dress the way i want and wat i think looks good.

 

SaGe_JoRmA I think what you are wearing right now is a mecican thick cotton shirt. Does it have a hood? Some do, I have owned more of those they are the best! I remember destroying one when I got lost in a tropical central american jungle once and walking through thick jungle and there were many little nats and holes bu it was wearable for another year,. LOL

I don't really care about how I'm dressed. I just wear whatever I feel like wearing that day... I always go for something comfortable and appealing (to myself).

I don't put too much importance into clothing. I throw on a shirt and a pair of pants and move on. I am not one of those people who must have recent clothing, as well. I have 4-year-old jeans I still wear, and I only have two pairs of shoes, one of them being sandals. As long as what I am wearing is in decent shape and not falling apart, I don't mind. I spend my money on music instead. The irony of it all is that I often get complimented on the way I dress.

I think you said it just right. Of course they do care about the way they dress, but they don't care for fashion.

 

.....coz fashion is shit that has no reference to individuality...

 

you should wear what you feel comfortable in. and not worry what people say or think about who you look.

 

I wear what I think girls like.

I could give two shits about fashion, so this winds up being semi-practical.

 

i've never been a hippy, but i've never tried to fit a dress code, either. i'll wear my clothes as crazy or not as i like it, when i like it that way. though you can always pick out a hippy in the crowd, same as any other clique.
