yeah. i read it and it was superb but i havent gotten through heaven and hell yet. Huxley's idea about america needing a safer recreational drug was right on the money.
For those who don't know, the title refers to the poem "Marriage of Heaven and Hell" by William Blake. The full quote says "If the Doors of Perception were Cleansed, mankind would see things as they are, Infinite." I wonder sometimes what Blake would've thought of Mescaline and LSD . . .
Ive never read it but i really want to... i have an obsession with the mind and all it can do... so powerful... but this book seems perfect for me
I have it but haven't managed to read it yet i bought it about two years ago and found it a bit hard to understand but maybe i'll give another try when i have read the other books that i have that i haven't gotten around to reading yet.
I only got to reading about half of it. Aldous can make you feel like youre tripping when you're reading one of his books. But my parents found it and threw it in my neighbors bonfire SO now I'm trying to find it again...
